Riding on Wymans

Special thanks to #5 for the hospitality at Chez Rotten. Dinner, movie, beer and brownies were the perfect apres ski-mobiling treats. We practiced the art of invisibility (ninja) on the way out. Hopefully we did not wake you. That white cat scared the sh!t out of me when she decided to jump on the couch and sleep with me.

Riding was great. It's funny that #7Jr. wanted no part of snowmobiling until #5's kids showed up. Then he wanted help putting his helmet on. The lake is in great shape and the trails are in good shape.

I never planned on riding triple, but when the kids are both on the sled saying "Let's go", you give it a shot. Riding triple on the MXZ is crowded, but still fun.

I noticed signage in Hagar Park. I have now seen it all.

I rode for over an hour prior to #5's arrival and enjoyed it immensely.

mini ride report 1/26: members: #5, #7 (+2), #19, #43.  We unloaded at HQ, the lake was in surprisingly good shape in my opinion.  hard pack but plenty of snow dust at speed.  #7 turned his Mx-Z into a Gtx and went triple rider on that mad machine.  #43 and I bunked up on the black sled and #19 went it his own on the ET250.

Buzzed about Big Bay a bit (a little alliteration for you writer buffs out there) which was fine.  Then into the famous nearby trails, they were relatively excellent.  a rock here, a branch there but they were in good shape.  The real test was to see how #19 did steering his own machine through them.  He did great, all the ATVing has paid dividends on the snow.

There was a little hissy once at the field but he got over it quick enough once I slathered him with accolades.  That night we had a rider to rider talk and he is ready for his next adventure.  I know #2 and #1 were north this day, I think #19 would do fine on those trails.  However, it should be noted that his speed is pretty low in trails right now so there would be no long haul trips involved.

Having to get off only once and for an instance that was a temporary off trail loop due to tree branches in the trail spelled the end of looking for a triple rider sled for this trio.  Good fun.  Total miles ~4.5

Shared sausage, mac+chz, brownies, a movie and a sleepover.  #7's family is an early riser - I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye.  I hope the trip home in the falling snow wasn't too bad on a Sunday morning.

That sounds great and should be some good fun. Ashley has Sunday school at 9:00am on (you guessed it) Sunday morning in Easton. I would be out the door by 7:30 at the latest.

I called #2 and he wonders if there is snow on the lake. I emailed Tracy for a report. I left a message with #388 for a report. Do you have Dragonman's number, he would know?

#388 said the lake has snow and is fine.

I'm not getting a lot of work done this Friday either.

#7, how about a sleepover?  You and the kids are more than welcome to stay at my house (we have running water).  An early Sun am departure would not be rude as we are snowshoeing at 10am in Leom SF with another family.

We can decide on Sat pm.  Thanks for the ride offer!

We have Electricity, Heat, DVD and VCR and ovens, but no running water or cable tv.  Douglas will most likely spend 90% of the time indoors. I don't plan on staying overnight, but anything is possible.  Lori is going out with the girls Saturday night and I have two kids until Sunday.

Does anyone know if the lake is safe, as in safe enough to let kids play on it and ride snowmobiles?

If #5 is planning on being there at 3:00pm, I would be there at least an hour earlier than that.

My cellphone will be on:

I would love in on that #7.  I am looking to ride locally with the boys, Sat late afternoon/evening would be perfect.  I can be there with machines after 3pm.

Are you staying the night at Wyman's?  If yes, then maybe we could do a dinner together (nothing like inviting myself to dinner is there!)  I am planning on an Italian sweet sausage/peppers/onions/potatoes dish, I can always make more.  What is available for VCR/DVD at the camp, I could bring a movie for the kids to watch.

It would be great to visit the Dike's from Easton.  Of course, all the Dike families!  It felt like a long week, I would love to drink a bottle of wine this weekend.

Thanks for the post!  My spirit is already picking up!

Is anyone riding on Wyman Lake these days?  Anyone up for a Saturday afternoon or evening ride with kids from Leino Park?
