I've shacked up with #7 and we both saw wood. He's very curtious in that he'll tell you to try and go to sleep prior to him...maybe he had something else in mind though?
They had 2 trucks and 3 dogs. #6 took one truck and one dog. I put his sled away and covered it for him. Conditions were so good that I wanted to ride in the morning. I get nervous about riding alone, since it's possible to have to walk many miles after a breakdown.
Whoever gets me as a roomate is forwarned about my snoring. On the brighter side, I'm pretty good about getting snacks, drinks and Advil for the room.
#7, I promise I won't drive back to Massachusetts from the Cabin in Rimouski if you snore too loud. But I may cover your face with a plastic bag. Talk about taking the expression 'my house is your house' too far (#6 that is).
How did #6b get home?
Extreme intolerance. I'm sure I know who #6 is voting for now - not McCain!
After an 8:30am arrival at "The Land". I unloaded and #6 greeted me. I fired up the REV and buzzed down the hill. There's a nice little jump at the top of the hill. #6 needed Gas and #2 was an hour+ behind. We took the powerlines north to the Ryzack General store for gas and maps. #6 lead the way on the way down. He rides at a decent pace. I took over on the way back and blasted up the mountain at awsome pace. It was the only opportunity to go balls out since we would be riding with E. and #2 riding with a passenger. We totaled 16 miles to the station and back.
#2 claimed that he had been waiting for us the whole time, sure. #2 and E. were ready to go. I dropped a bomb in the outhouse and was primed for a day of riding. We headed north again. It was sunny, 35 degrees and perfect conditions. We found our way from 141 (the powerlines) to 153. We headed out with no particular destination, but eventually headed towards Lyme, since there was gas and food there. This turned out to be somewhat of a mistake. The area around Groton were perfect conditions. There were about 10 miles in and out of Lyme that were thin and crappy.
Lyme is a beautiful little town. I got some good pictures. I lead most of the way since I was riding single. #6 seemed to know the area pretty well. When we found corridor 5, it was in prestine condition. It had to be a paved road underneath the snow. It was so smooth and wide, it was like Quebec. Toward the end of the day I noticed that all on this trip were getting tired and wanted to be back at the cabin. We did our best to find our way back to the familiar powerlines. I think this was the longest trip E. had ever been on. She keeps her own pace that is comfortable for her. I don't mind waiting since it gives me a chance to take pictures and movies.
We headed back the way we came on 153, 154, 5 and 141. It was enjoyable and relaxing. We took all the scenic views of the area.
#2 and #1 went home. #7, #6 and E went out for dinner. When we got back, we had a chance to talk and hang out. A long day of riding made us ready to hit the rack. I went to sleep. They went to sleep (I thought). When the sun came up and I put my glasses on....I asked E "Where's #6?". She said your not going to believe this....he went home to Fitchburg because I was snoring so loud. Shocked and in disbelief, I felt shorter than I already am.
I was going to see if #6 wanted to take a 2 hour ride at 8:00am. That idea left with #6's departure.
Apologies to #6 for my annoying involuntary bodily noises. Honestly, I didn't think that snoring was my most annoying bodily noise.
Great ride, great company, perfect hospitality and 90 miles for the day. When's the next ride? I'll provide ear plugs.
