It will most likely be pouring rain when #7 and #3 load their sleds, I will keep the truck heated for you...another selling point #5 failed to mention with the "early" arrival. I will be bringing a plastic tote to put my gear into that can stay in the bed of my truck or open trailer. This will keep things dry and I suggest everyone do the same.
I believe we are going to have a crazy amount of luggage (I will have a saddlebag, helmet, boots & and extra bag) in #388's truck until we meet up with the other 4 travelers. I think we need to meet at DD in Brookline for no other reason but to put all of our junk in the back of the covered trailer.
I got my sled back last night. They did a complete tune up and some minor maintenance.
yeah, thanks for the update, so my house will smell like your butt for 6 days, excellent. you are more than welcome to my septic tank anytime.
none of my business, you do what you like, but it never made any sense to me what difference it makes what you decide to do between the hours of 11pm (after your wife falls asleep maybe) and 2:45am (your projected departure time). I guess it really makes no difference, but you're being a good husband.
see you when you get here, I already warned my neighbor on that side there would be a snowmobile engine starting for about 15 seconds at about 4am. let's just make sure we line you up before starting the engine to minimize the run time.
sorry you'll miss the cotton candy and carmel apples!
I will not be attending "3 Men and a Trailer" night in Princeton. I agreed to specific plans with my family of when I was leaving and coming back. I will be sticking to those plans.
I will see you at 3:45am sharp in #5's driveway Saturday morning. I will be leaving my keys in #5's house. Just point to where you want me to park and that's where it will go.
I might need to drop some wolfbait in your facilities. Have snowmobiling reading materials handy.
I wanted to open an invitation to those riding w/ #388's truck. Since our meeting plan is 3:45am at my place - why not start the trip an evening early. I will be back from dropping the kinder off by 9:30pm (scout meeting) and then I will be all alone. Since sleep will elude me well into the night, you are more than welcome to come on over before getting a few hours of shut eye.
#7, after saying goodnight to the kids, and kissing your lovely wife goodbye for the next 6 days, why not hit the road early (or rather, later) than original. When you arrive we can load that 800 up on to her berth, tie down and cover for the long journey. Then you can fall asleep relaxed without worrying about a middle of the night alarm.
#10, you've been travelling all week, why rush some more? Do you really want to load your trailer, drive up here, unload, reload, and then drive home on Thursday? Why not just come over on Friday night when you are good and ready? You can leave your trailer here, and then it will be here when you get back. As the Swedish Chef used to say: vedy zimble, vedy eazy!
#388, I don't have to do much selling here, he thought of this idea long before I did! He will say his goodbyes and rumble that big manly man truck on over here. We will connect up the trailer and load the gear. This will give us ample time to deal with any last minute issues that arise without the tick, tick, tick thundering in our ear. It's a great plan.
I will be delpleted on food supplies by design but there is some beer around. We can watch Extreme Sled something or other to get pumped up. The two kids beds will be open and there is one couch that #7 has used so he can chime in and vouch for its comfort (or not). I have two adult sleeping bags and more blankets than you can shake a stick at.
With all 4 riders here Friday night, we will roll off at the expected departure time to start an incredible 6 day journey. See you then.
