I'm disappointed in the Prez's decision as well. A few sour grapes in the club and all has gone to crap. No WPR last year...No bonfire this year...Now another year without a WPR? I think the Prez is tired, which I can't blame him. This club has become "our" little home in the winter months as well as the off season. It takes a ton of effort to keep up with a web site, never mind organizing all the gatherings. Maybe we should think of restructuring the club, so everyone has a "job" to do and play his or her part. Let's not let a good thing come to an end. Quitting is easy...
Come to think of it, I believe Brett Farve did get a championship, the team he beat escapes me now, but I remember they were wearing red, white and blue uniforms and were from the northeast...
I can't believe what I'm reading, lest I forget what country I'm in. We love our 24 hour news cycles. Let me get this straight, we are voting Wyman Pond Racer of the Year in a club where the Mission Statement is: Snowmobiling. And part of the decision for one candidate is being based on whether or not he went to a McDonald's on the drive home from a 900 mile most incredible snowmobile trip ever taken by the club by far. Why am I surprised? This is par for the course.
Directly above this post is CLEARLY a picture of me standing at the ordering counter of a McDonald's restaurant. Do I have to actually explain that since I knew the banter on the website would come to a complete halt after the return of such a trip, I thought I'd continue some controversy for us to throw posts at. How could I imagine such a runaway topic. The ride reports and breathtaking photos are a side show to this post. Talk about a backfire.
After reading that the Pres will retire this award that has become such a mockery for some, I guess I'm like Brett Farve, I gave it one last shot at being able to put champion on my resume, but, alas, that dream will elude me forevermore. Oh well, it was a nice dream.
#5 would have been my pick until he denied being at McDonalds and dared anyone to prove otherwise. He's now an internet lawyer, or did he stay at a Holiday Inn express?
#4 is a good pick. So is #388. So is #13. So is #10. Despite selective memory, so is #5.
Clearly #5 aka Johnny Big Mac was the favorite but the scandel that he has wrapped himself in might just kill his chances. I gotta believe that the Prez is still strongly considering me. Thoughts?
Take the sled back out!!! Went to groveton for a day trip on Thursday with "Dock Killer" Al and Mike (Blue Dragon Landscape for U Townsend folks), trails were an 11 out of 10. Absolutely perfect, flat as can be for the entire 182 miles. Went to Dicksville Peak, Balsoms, Perry Pond and Stub Hill.
I put my sled away for the season. I haven't been on HCS or the Groveton Trailblazers sight since before Gaspe'.
I guess it's time to vote for WPROTY, but not actually get one because of a some kind of Pezidential boycott.
Aaahhhh, who to vote for....................what's that criteria again? Who does the most for the club? Hhhhhmmm.
The Gaspe was who's idea? Who did all the preparation? Who rode the most? Who had the most fun this season? Who learned to change a belt? Who had the best wipeout? Who took the best pictures? Who bought the most rounds? Who complained the most? Who is WPROTY?
That's all there is left...unless we can put together one more ride. Groveton is still open.
