I just don't get there. North Falmouth is my new Wyman Lake without the Drury sisters. I'm now an ocean guy. The wife and kids spend the summer there so when I get a day off I head right for New Sliver beach jump in the Whaler and start trolling. I appreciate the chicken a plenty. I miss everything about the lake especially the band "Asia".
I drove the Orange machine for Wyman Lake Association. I had a good tan that summer. Tom Lacava said it was ok if I had a cold beer on a hot day. I thought that meant pound as many beers as I could while making a few runs up and down the channels. The beers would lead to an afternoon nap.
Those chemicals wlorked so good that WLA sold the Old Orange Crusher.
Life was so simple and enjoyable back then.
Hey #4, it's ok to visit Wyman Lake once in a while. Pack a cooler full of Bud Lights and drop by some time, bring the twins. There's always chicken a plenty.
I can't remember but it was #2 or #7 that was Captain Milfoil for beer money. I know one of them worked with that orange wheel paddler scissor action floater. Every time I fell water on a water ski ( and that was often) my legs were wrapped in Milfoil. There was no diving down to find it. From the middle of Big Bay to Grassy, Milfoil was everywhere. One time it tried to wrap me up and pull me to the bottom and hold me down but I had a knife in my ski boot and I was able to cut myself free.
C'mon #4, ok, I admit, there were some weeds. But very few. There were those long skinny brown ones but those were hardly a bother at all. You had to dive down to touch any others. That's what I remember.
I'm talking when I was growing up. The lake was already overrun by the time I was in college. Damn Milfoil. But now it's gone. Look at other lakes in the region, it's terrible.
Just a post of thanks. #7 and family were up at the lake and #5 and family were thankful for their hospitality.
The new outboard on the pontoon boat is very nice.
We had a Circle of Life moment at Sh!t Hill Island when we watched all of our kids picking shoreline blueberries from the boat and popping them in their mouth. Ahhh. That was a real pleasure to see - and eat - them dang blueberries were delicious!!
Caught up with #6 and some girl he was with (she really needs a number) and saw Mr. #6 as well briefly before the rain came and scattered us. But not before I got a chance to ride the 750. Thing is smoking fast!!
Water was gorgeous and not a weed in sight, they have really done an amazing job with that. It's like a different lake. Actually - reminds me of when I was a kid. No weeds at all. Well done WLA.
Thanks, it was great to finally get on the water this year. We'll be around more in August. Seeya.
this July schedule is killing me! I promise you will see my face in August! We are off to the beach. argh.
Disgusting note: my company just "tethered" my Blackberry to my laptop so I can work from the beach. lovely....
At least I didn't cancel my vacation like #99. what a card! speaking of who, #99 and I had a great late night conversation at the campfire as #2 sawed wood while we chatted.
I haven't been on the homefront all season yet. feels wrong. get those X2's ready!
