Sorry to say I could not line up care so I will not make this meeting.
Here are my thoughts so far:
- I don't really mind a 16 hour drive and 1 day on the train, but I don't like that we'd only have 3 days of riding for all that travel. Or did I hear that it is still 4 days of riding? - #388 will not have the tow vehicle that pulled the 4-place last year at the time of the trip so we must consider worse gas mileage from another tow vehicle. - I would be happy to tow but a want a vehicle that seats 4 grown men so we can switch off and chat with more than just 2 in a vehicle. - I would like to look into those soft covers for the sleds on the open trailer. - March will be a better month for the trip for me, what is the snow like in March in Ontario? - They speak English over there right? - We definately must all register in advance for there. - we still need to figure projected riding distances per day to see if these distances will fit our group riding profile. - will #4 join us? - what is the poll for who would do this and if not, what alternative suggestions are there? - I have heard Gaspe counter-clockwise; and VT
Am I missing a Sauna at this meeting?????!?!!?!! If so, I will be very sad.
I know you requested it not be posted but... Stay on 119 for 10 miles past the last meeting. Take a left on East Monomonack rd. 2 miles on right and you are there. - 13
#7 great post! An expert mix of humor and sarcasm.
I'm wondering the same thing about the snowmobile trip, namely, what's different about the snow in Ontario versus Quebec?
To complete the trifecta, I will propose that we sign up with a company that pushes you out of a plane while seated on your snowmobile and you "extreme ride" while freefalling and then land in 30 feet of fresh powder on the north slope of a New Zealand outback range. The only caveat with this plan is that we will all need to purchase 166" longtrack sleds with 2.5" paddles - otherwise you sink 10 feet into the snow never to be seen from again. That is, unless you also purchase a satellite locator so they can find you.
Why don't we save #7 a trip and just have the 3rd meeting in Quebec?

ps> ice in the fountain since this weekend, it's coming.
I am very excited about the Oct 23rd meeting. I understand this one is only another 15 miles west and north of the previous meeting.
I will get out of work at 3:00pm and begin my journey.
After charting the last few meetings (including last season) the next meeting is destined to be in Vermont. I love the green mountain state and look forward to it.
With gas prices hovering around $3.00, round trip will still be a bargain at under $100.
With the annual trip for 2009 involving a train and automobiles, I must point out that you forgot to involve a plane.
When do we actually stop traveling and ride on these snowmobiles?
