Relax #5, you should know I never take your quotes seriously! I can't believe you chewed on that one. Prepare to buy a new sled...the big O has my vote.
C'mon #388, keep up! It's a self-effacing comment - I AM ONE OF THE MASSES - I wasn't at the meeting remember?! It's said from the elitest perspective that they (the one(s) suggesting the new rules) will have us fall in line.
The rest of your post is just mean. Sorry you think I "dicked" with you but if you remember correctly (which I do) YOU are the one who reneged on our deal - that makes you the dickhead! Ha!
Your vote Obama cry is so ridiculously disingenuous it's silly - there is a better chance I will buy a new snowmobile than you vote for Obama; that is to say, there is NO chance of that happening!!! Calling out his skin color for no reason only continues the ignorant race conversation - let's kill it once and for all. Describe him for what he is - a smart, driven, talented, socio-economic champion for his poor and lower middle class constituents. I have enormous respect for the man - I just don't share his political views (not entirely because I've never been poor or lower-middle class, but so many that are came to this country to take advantage of his model that promote that behavior). Now there's some real honesty we can all use. It would be better if more people spoke the truth.
I thought I was off of politics! sorry it's too close to election day. By the way, didn't we all get past this over-sensitive cry-baby "he insulted me and it hurt my feelings" bull$hit on the site a long time ago. THESE ARE ALL JUST JOKES AND ARE MEANT TO CREATE FRICTION ON THE WEBSITE - I THOUGHT THAT'S WHAT Y'ALL WANTED ON IT!?!?!?
#13, is there one of those queer faces that sprinkles apologies everywhere whenever I make a post??
I'm a little upset at your comment..."Talk of plentiful food and cheap beer to enchant and distract the dull idiot masses into line". So we're idiots now? FU and the queer polaris you rode in on. I've officially put a Hex on you and your lame ride. You've dicked with so many members over the past years on purchasing sleds, your destined for failure this season...you idiot. VOTE OBOMA...once you go black, you'll never go back!
Ok, I've calmed down. And apologies to #13 (it's wasn't you #13, you were just the poor bastard that replied, my post was bait), and to #7 for highjacking the site - this is most definately a snowmobile site!
For 3 days in a row my oldest has looked out the window and said I hope it snows today. When I questioned this most hopeful wishing, he said he just can't wait to go snowmobiling again. I knew there was a reason I keep feeding him!
There is a big sled and accessory and appearal sale at Higgins 10/30-11/1. We will try to find time to check it out. Again, the older one is already talking new (newer) machine for him. How can I say no?? Even the younger one is talking about riding the Mini Z. Music to my ears!
Truth be told: there are many things I like about Barack Obama and even consider his would-be election to the presidency a huge step forward for the U.S. There's no question his leadership would be inspirational.
However, in the end, I realize that the reality is with our complex and entrenched system - it is only policy positions that really matters. So I feel I must vote for what I believe in. The smaller, most local government possible.
Remember the name of our country: The United States of America. It is really a disgrace the way states continue to lose power and individuality to the federal gov't. It is not the intended design of the founders. In the end, all it means is that we, the citizens, continue to lose choices of where we can live to be with the people who want to live the way each of us wants to.
so I ask what's the point? Why do some people want others to live a certain way? What do they care? Why do they want global rules imposed on all? I don't understand this controlling desire. Let's let the federal gov't just do what it was intended to do. Military, and only essential national infrastructure to insure our security as a nation. All socio-economic policy should be left to the state and local governments! Then it would really be a government of the people, by the people and for the people!
If the U.S. were a country of people who thought like you: we would still be saluting the Union Jack, or maybe you even preferred to still exalt a king??
That's ok, #13, others will fight for you so you and your family can live free. (Wow-that a seemingly edgy comment!! But I'll leave it in because I know you know I'm only going for the shock factor on the site! and I'm only kidding.)
I suppose you will vote for Barack "the gov't will take care of you because we know you don't know what's best for you" Obama for President. Typical. I almost spit on a guy wearing Birkenstocks this weekend.
I am in full-blown, cammo wearin', animal killin', 4WD, locked 'n loaded, give 'em hell, supercharged, posi-traction, alchohol burnin', 4th and 1, no guts no glory, take no prisoners mode these days!!
It's 1 week to election day - who the hell needs caffine!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have the Democrat Brothers been seen out hold signs yet????
Yeeeeehaaaaaaawwww!!!!
#5 Red, White and Blue - go stars and stripes!!!!! <pyrotechnics go off now>
Ok, are we refreshed? I'm obviously joking about the suggestions put forth from the 10/23 meeting. We always bang around this idea. And I have not submitted anything concrete either yet this year. So given that condition:
I want to thank the Pres for moving the next meeting to a weekend date, that is much more palatable for me. I promise to come to the 11/15 meeting with an actual trip suggestion. I may or may not include projected costs because of how badly I missed last year. But I would also argue that our accomodations on 2-3 of the 4 nights were second to none on any previous trip. The food that was served to us on nights 1 and 4 will probably never be topped. The moose pasta has now quite simply achieved legendary status in my mind. If it wasn't for the fact that Pierre Frenchy or what's his name would probably chop me up and put me in a stew of his own I would go back and make Chantel a proper wife indeed (just joking around-his hospitality was first class)!!
I think I will look into a trip that fulfills multiple wants; progressive but never far from base. Local but new. Memorable but low risk. Less than 16 hours of driving but a world away. Good food from a menu you can read. Great accomodations that don't break the bank. Where is this magical place? I have no idea but I'll try to find it before the next meeting!
So fight the power! Buck the system! Stick it to the man! Just say no! Join the cause! Don't be a sheep! Break away from the tyranny! Be a difference maker! What will you tell your children you did to make the world a better place to live in?!?! Be the ball! what? I've run out of isms.
Band Together! United we stand - divided we have to take separate tow vehicles which will cost a lot in gas... #5, Founder SWPRPRSTSM (Save the WPR Progressive Ride Snowmobile Trip Separatist Movement)
I have attended maybe 15 or so meetings in a row over the last several pre-seasons and not missed a one. I know very well what happens at these meetings and exactly how much "work" goes into trip planning at the meeting itself. I know ideas are floated, research is shared, and opinions and feedback are provided. But this!!
These are major changes that sound like they have been voted on, and ratified by a small elitest group of members (some of whom have even publicly renounced the club!!). I smell a coup!! Let's hear the evidence: an undisclosed, far away meeting held in the privacy of one of the conspirator's homes. Announcements of the changes made in a public forum that appear to be the accepted wishes of a group majority. Talk of plentiful food and cheap beer to enchant and distract the dull idiot masses into line.
Were officers present - I know Pres was; #3, as (former) "Trail Boss" didn't lead a single ride last year; is #7 an officer? #388? Now granted #10 has done a very poor job in his position as well, and I submitted my input in advance of the meeting. Who is our Secretary by the way - I noticed the Pres posted the meeting minutes. Is this another ploy? Is #2 our Pres and Secretary? How many officer positions does he want to hold simultaneously?? All of them??? Does the name Dick Chaney mean anything to anyone?!?!??!
Ha! Actually, I'm fine w/ 90% of it all. The only thing I really do enjoy on our trips is the progressive ride part. I love never riding the same trails twice and seeing new scenery around every corner for 4 days of riding on our trip. It's one of the biggest features that makes the trip the trip for me. Each time we visit a new area it opens our "reference" of riding places for future trips. I'll only remind everyone of everyone's mediocre feelings about the year we went back and did the same loop twice. We promised we wouldn't do that again.
That being said: the benefits are it would probably would not increase the cost of the trip (and may possibly drop the cost a tiny bit). And, if there is a year that never going too far from the trucks would sound appealing to me, it would be the year my snow machine will probably top 10,000 miles during the trip!!
I'll save my next thought for a separate post so you can all cool down for a minute and get a drink of water. Come back when you're finished, I promise not to hold a secret meeting and implement new club policy while you're taking a piss.
Oops!! #5 better call me today or tomorrow morning if that rumor has any validity to it. I have a guy coming over tomorrow afternoon(Sunday) to look at it and he sounds serious. You have first shot #5 but I'll need to know by tomorrow am. Call my cell if interested otherwise I'll assume not. 13 out
Great meeting. thanks #3 for a great hangout. I'm hooked on WoodChuck Cider Draft! I voted no on any train rides and anything that contained "Yellow". The prez has caught my attention with the word "FOOD". He was quoted" I'll cook all the meals and you can eat till your hearts content", Can't wait.
Rumor mill: #5 is buying #13's 700 classic...soon!
The meeting was a success thanks to #3 and his excellent hospitality. The sauna was hot and the lake was cold. I went in 3 times. Now I think I'm sick.
Nobody saw me fall down the hill, fortunately, I landed on the soft cushion of my lard ass. I can't see anything without my glasses on.
Some new ideas were floated about but nothing really concrete established.
Thanks to #2, #388 and #3 for a night out. It was a good time had by all.
