Excellent response #4, I like the analogy using Polaris...looks nice but very poor quality and cheap. I will dispose of this into our local landfill...may it rest in piece!
Probably not worth repairing unless it has sentimental value. Ridgeway movements often get swapped out with a new movement when they break. Repairing this clock will most often exceed the clocks value. No jewels = low grade. Movements such as yours are made to be disposable. Ridgeway is a low quality name similar to Arctic Cat. If you want a quote to have it fixed call Russ Greenwood @ 603 881 8309 he is one of our repairmen an is most reasonable. Russ lives in Nashua. If you want to sell it bring it to Auctions by Email in Fitchburg. Located in the strip mall next to the old Capitol department store. They bring between $50- $100. Good luck!
This response took much thought and consideration. Please provide a billing address.
I just inherited a broken down Floor (grandfather) clock. It looks like my father-in-law tried to become a clock mechanic and tried to fix it, but gave up.
The clock is a Ridgeway model 203, Dial C-7, movement EN 32575, Finish-FRT6, Serial-7/11/84; Urgos, made in Germany, NO(0) Jewels, unadjusted, VW32575D, 1365210.
He claims it jammed or something and stopped working? It looks like he removed the pendulum, weights and chains. He dropped on of the wieghts and the top was damaged. It's in good shape otherwise. What do I do #3 and 4? Is it worth repairing?
