#3, your post breaks my heart. My deepest condolences. Let it be known that it was the Sonic Blue XC that started the whole run for our club. You did your homework, and bought well. We were all just lemmings falling in behind your leadership. I am so satisfied with my sled still that I almost bought it a second time! twice!!
#388 is mistaken in one respect, it's not that #3 didn't make the effort to maintain, I know that engine has had significant work done to it not long ago. I do remember it needed something to do with the water pump some time ago as well. All I've ever done to my engine is clean power valves at the beginning of every season. that's it.
It's a sad report either way. But now there should be no doubt in your mind that it is time. Be kind to her, she has served you well for many miles.
That's a bummer #3. Perfect example of clear lack of maintenance...#5 has same sled and runs like a champ, he takes his apart every year and maintains. Follow that star!
The Pres, Caboose and myself met, loaded, and departed on schedule. No issues. Who is surprised?
A quick stop for fuel, registration and sustenance. Still on schedule. No surprises.
Into Nash Stream before nine. Are you surprised? We unloaded at the new parking lot. We warmed the machines and choose a route... Be back at four.
The trails were excellent. First or second after the groomer. Crisp and clear the sled had snap. In the corner early, out hard. Nice pace. Settle in. Nothing crazy.
Mile 6.1 brought a blip of red on the dash. Pull some more throttle and it returns again. Settle at 6000 rpms, all seems fine. I decided to pull over and lift the hood. The coolant was not in the traditional spot under the cap. Pres had some extra and we tried to refilled and adjust the level. Raised the front of the sled and idled, all the tricks. Nothing took. We decided to head North to buy some additional coolant. By mile 14, she died in the middle of a corner going up hill. The temp light never came on for an extended period time. Something did go definitely wrong? Restarted the motor and it sounded like it was in the middle of a slap fight.
The blue puppy had to be towed back to the truck. The 800 seemed to handle this task without too much effort.
Meet us at Young's in 2 hours. See you then. The chase vehicle left the parking lot.
Lunch was good. On me of course. That blue sled is starting to cramp my style.
Let meets down to Nash Stream at 4:30. No problem. Route 3 has several Skidoo dealers to stop at. I now know them all. Any questions?
5:15, late dusk, the brothers return to the warm glow of the truck. I am well read.
Thanks for the ride boys. They logged 175 miles? Not bad considering. Do I get credit for all of them?
