Nice report #7. Lake was in great shape, I arrived around noon. Without a trailer, I loaded my quad onto my dads truck and sled onto mine. I left before the wife and kids in order to have everything unloaded and ready to go. Once at the lake my father had a nice fire blazing. There were 8-10 sleds on the lake and everyone was having a great time. #7 arrived around 1pm and I saw him pulling the little guy across the lake with a tow rope and sled..cute. We rode around for a little while and mini 7 went in to watch a DVD. #7 and I took a quick rip and parked out in Big Bay. We talked of the trip and both agreed, the trip is going to be a blast. While riding, I noticed a new sled in the pack and confirmed it was a 2010 Nytro XTX. Very sweet sounding /looking sled. The gentelmans name was Bob and I believe he lives next to member Cmon69(who was also on the lake). I gave rides around the lake on the quad and wheeler. My dad was eager to ride the quad and after a quick lesson, he was off like a pro. The best was watching him and my mother ride off laughing and waving to everyone. I managed to do some speed runs across big bay and saw 111 on the speedo, GPS confirmed 98.5 as a max speed. It's disgusting how bad the speedo is off! Sled ran great but I was low on fuel. Like #7, I took a few rips through Hagar Park only to find they have started a logging operation on the field side of the hill. It looks aweful cleared out and makes me wonder what's in store for our "little" recreational area. I returned to base camp and took my son and neice for a ride on the quad through Hagar. This brought back some great memories. There is something to be said while riding a quad vs sled through hagar...it gives you a totally different perspective. Once back at fire pit, the kids were cold so Stacey brought them home. I now had some time to ride alone. The lake was clear of sleds...where could they be??? The Rambler of coarse! I ripped up to the top of Hagar and into the field where I met Marty and the gang. We talked a little and admired each others sleds till we all headed back to the lake. Marty and I passed thru the bridge at the same time and we both looked at each other and squeezed the happy flipper. I ended up across the lake first and Marty gave me the nod. On the way back I felt the dreaded bog and realized I was out of petro! I turned the key before it stopped and she fired up and limped home in time to load her up. Close call! Total mileage logged: 51 miles.
Highlights of the day: Mom and Dad on quad, Hagar Ride with Quad, Toasting HotDogs over and open Fire, D&D Box of Cocoa

I had a chance to ride for a couple of hours in Pearl Hill this afternoon. I didn't see any other sleds but many have been there. I wanted to put on some miles so I went around the loop 15 times. 30 more miles today and 40 to go before wed. It would be nice if we had a little more snow.
I arrived at the lake at 1pm on a sunny and chilly Saturday afternoon. I brought mini-me and his sled. I towed him around the lake on beautiful conditions of loosley packed powder on top of thick ice.
I ran into the #388's entire extended family. They had a fire going on the ice and hot dogs cooking on sticks. The family that freezes together stays together. They were all pleasant and in good spirits.
#388 and I rode around the lake several times alone and together. He and I got stuck behind someone on a Yamaha going through the bridge. Once through, we blew past that guy like he was at a standstill. We blasted down around the islands at 140 and out to Big Bay. #388 rides fast. The Apex looked and sounded great.
Hagar Park was in pretty good shape. I did run into two water crossings/washouts while in there. It was exactly what I was trying to avoid. The boy scouts have labeled all the trails in there pretty well. There was plenty of snow and many trails that I had not remembered from past years on bikes or sleds.
There were quite a few spots where all the trees were cut down. I rode about every trail on the cemetary side of Hagar. Mini me was complaining that his helmet was bashing against the windshield. I'm just breaking him in.
I did some riding by myself also. It was good to get the MXZ out for some speed runs after some routine and non-routine maintenance. That was the point of the whole trip.
I had a nice conversation about the trip with #388. I am getting more and more pumped about it every day. I say it and believe it every year. This is going to be the best year ever.
