#5, Wally World did not have the correct size marker light. I installed the old one which can now act as a simple reflector.
I will be dropping my sled and clubs 4-place trailer off at #3's tomorrow before noon.
I have a couple of ideas for Sundays departure:
1. I can drive to #5's house and leave my truck there until we return.
or
2. I can pick #2 up on my way to Townsend, leave my vehicle at #3's homestead. This way I can hook the trailer up on the ride home, drop#2's sled off, drop my sled off, and park the trailer.
I'd prefer the 2nd option. Please let me know if this works for everyone.
The 4-place is currently at Sulin Bros. on John Fitch Hwy (behind Taco Bell) and is being repaired today. It should be done this afternoon or Friday morning. I will pick it up, pay for repair and bring to my house. #388 will pick it up, and on Saturday, I understand he will load on it and bring it to #3 house mid-day Saturday.
#2 will be at #3 house on Saturday to install brake controller in tow vehicle and load his sled on 4-place.
#99's sled will be picked up on Saturday as well.
If you would like further details on the repair being done, read below: The steel nut bar is bolted to an aluminum cross brace which is welded to the aluminum frame. So it needed to be aluminum to aluminum weld. #388 had been making disclaimers that went from 'I'm not good at welding' to 'I don't know how to weld' to 'welding Aluminum is different' and so on. Believe me - not busting cubes, I wouldn't know one end of a welder from the other so I was just more comfortable to let someone who knows what they're doing to make sure we don't lose a machine on the hwy. I will let everyone know what the repair cost is. It shouldn't be much, just a straight forward tack weld of two pieces.
I'm going to branch out a little on my Canadian beers this trip. I still have a couple Bleu's and Molsen Exports in my refrigerator from my wife's Montreal visit last summer.
Those beers are good, but variety is the spice of life.
I have a meeting at 10am and could be back at my house for around 12:30pm tomorrow. I'm free until 6pm tomorrow evening. Can we get the trailer over to the barn for then? If not. The welder is portable and runs off a standard 120v outlet.
5, I am not sure I will be able to pick up the trailer in Princeton. I have to work all day saturday and time is getting short. I will keep you posted.
I can leave the third row seats in if you all want a ride.
#2 wants to meet at the route 13 Brookline Gas Station/Dunkin Donuts/Pizza Place/Convenient Store on Sunday morning at 6:00am
#5, That means we are loaded up and leaving your property at 5:15am sharp. I will enter your property at 4:45am sharp for the loading/unloading.
If #388 wants to ride with us to Brookline, its up to him.
There's a 10 hour drive, a couple gas stops, lunch and a border crossing will get us to the Holiday Inn by 6pm for ****tails and ride reports with Seg Bill.
Alright! So #7 and #5 will ride together towing #5 two-place. #388, after we get the 4-place squared away (we might not have to weld to get something in place to hold the tie-down bar) we can load your sled on and I'll take it back to my house or you can keep it and have #3 pick it up there (or bring it back to #3's).
We can take my truck, no prob. I'll get to your house an hour+ earlier than departure time from Townsend.
As for luxury, I don't think so. My truck is as bland as steamed tofu but it's kind of new, safe and reliable. Remember to bring the white trailer registration.
As for the Trail Passes, I dare you to fill out the dates.
It's getting close and I'm pretty excited. I think I just pee'd a little in my pants.
We should be able to fit the trailer in the barn and blast the modine for added warmth. I am not a welder and have only welded small things for my tractor. I have know idea on welding anything to aluminum. I have taken Saturday off in order to get everything loaded up and ready. I'm not sure when we would be able to try and fix the trailer this week? Please don't get to comfortable asking for a ride in the "luxury" box vehicle, after riding up to Keene in your truck, I have come to the conclusion that 10 plus hours in a small foreign truck does not work for people of my height, weight and girth. My back needs a bigger seat, so my plans are to ride up in #3's vehicle. The attacthed picture sums up what I looked like in your truck.
#3, I will not pick up the 4-place today (Tuesday), too much going on and conditions. Would you please shovel it off and have it ready for me to pick up tomorrow (Wednesday)? Keep the two hold-down bars that you have. I will pick up the other two and have them with the trailer.
#388, will it be possible/is there room in the barn for us to back the trailer in part way and work on the left-rear nut bar? Whether we need to weld or just bolt in the nut bar we will get something in place. If not, I will just do it in my driveway.
#3, once the 4-place is repaired and ready I will let you know (by post) and ask that you come and pick it up from my driveway. It will be facing out ready to tow away.
#7, you are more than welcome to leave your truck at my house for the trip, but you may need to bring your sled up to Townshend to load onto the 4-place? I would plan to go and get #388 sled on Saturday night with my 2-place. Actually, now that I think of it. I could leave my sled on the 4-place when #3 comes to get it and then I could load #7 and #388 sled on my two place. Now come to think of it, since you offered to use your truck to tow, and if my sled will be on the 4-place, maybe you connect up to my 2-place and load on it and I'll ride in the deluxe vehicle!! I like this last idea very much!! Alas, maybe I am not invited to ride in the lap of luxury.
Let me know what you all would like to do as a final plan. I am fine with any of the above. Anyone who wants to crash here Saturday night is fine w/ me, I will be back here by 8 or 9pm. I also would think the group departing from Princeton will drive north to meet the group departing from Townshend en route. I have 2-way radios and will put fresh batteries. #388 has his Rhino as well.
Getting excited, I am looking at possible loops from HI and Passion. Thank you for booking HI #7. Let us know if you need help cancelling from Matapedia.
Are we filling in the dates on our Quebec Trail Passes yet boys!!?!?!???!?!???!!!!!!!
