Exchange rates are not good. Too many fees tacked on. It's less than $1US to $1CDN at both Sovereign Bank and American Express.

I took the best available deal which was Sovereign.

Either take my word for it or do your research. Call the bank and ask what the cash exchange rate is including all fees.

The internet does not account for retail fees.

Most places take US Dollar. If you have credit or debit cards, most places take that. When we go out to lunch in small little dives, sometimes they don't take US Currency.

I bring Canadian cash every year and don't deal with the issue. I have access to currency exchange near my office and I get it there.

I don't know who does currency exchange near you. I would check Worcester or call your bank.

why bother? do they not take american up there? #7, where can I exchange a couple hundred if it is neccessary?

The current exchange rate is $1.00 to $1.0319 Canadian. I've placed my order for pickup on Thursday.

I don't know what kind of fees I will pay at Sovereign bank, but I'm sure it's less than the fees I paid in years past from Amex.
