RE: President's Day Ride 2-15-10

#10,

How about I pick you up Sunday, we take your trailer and my truck. We make a quick switch-a-roo with my sled and we're off. My trailer is fine for local traveling.  Traveling to my house is a nice gesture, but not necessary.

It should take 15-20 minutes to do this.  You don't need to travel south. We have a long way to travel north. It's quite a bit easier to go to your place than Leominster or Townsend.

We can get the registrations Monday morning on our way to Nash Stream parking lot. The hotel is near the Polaris dealership. Polaris dealership opens at 7am.  We could be on the trails very early if we want.

I have a map that I downloaded from http://www.nhtrails.org/trail-uses/snowmobiling/.  It's raw, but that along with our memories of years past as well as signs will be fine. We might find one Sunday night or Monday morning.

Should I book the hotel for Sunday?

#388,

Awe shucks!  If I had the cash I would have been getting some windows from ya, but being in high-tech sales at the moment is tough!

Hope we can ride together before the season is done.

Good Luck with the new endeavor.

I'm out for Monday, I have a job interview.  I no longer advocate Renewal by Andersen windows....I'm going back too owning my own remodeling business for now.  If anyone needs any work done, let me know....I also do windows for half the RBA cost!!!!

#13,

Would love to see ya on the trip, pretend you didn't know that you didn't have the holiday off. SInce you are in HR and probably instituted the holiday schedule noone will likely believe you but that's o.k., in the end you'll get out on a nice days of sledding.

I can't make the 19th as I am in Burlingotn, VT. The 26th might be a possability but could be very tough since it is the last business day of the month, I'll have to play this one by ear as we get closer to the date.

Thanks for tossing out some suggestions.

p.s. did you run these club event dates past the new president for approval?

#7, Cabot Inn sounds good to me. A nice Hot Tub sounds good too. smile.gif
Really doesn't matter if we drive to a drop point in the a.m. given the situation.

Waiting for others to Join on Monday morning is also good with me. Either way I am just excited to get out and play!

How late is the dealership in Lancaster open for passes? Else does the Hotel also provide them? How about maps, mine are very out dated at this point. I could still take a ride Sat. sometime to get passes if you like? Didn't work out today.

Are we still able to use your truck? I forgot that even without the Bronco I could use my work suv as well. Therefore we have a few options:
(a) I'll load my sled onto my trailer and can drop it off at your house this weekend, you can load your sled anytime, connect to yoru truck and pick me up on the way north.
(b) I can drive down on time of our departure and switch trailer at that time.
(c) I could come pick you up, load your sled and head north in my nitro.
(d) If your trailer is good enough for a local trip you come here and we'll unload and load your sled onto my trailer and take either truck north.

I'm cool with any of the above. If we are leaving early Monday morning we will want to minimize the switching and should complete that task over the weekend sometime. If we are leaving Sun. evening we won't be in such a time crunch and can handle this at time of departure.

I shoudl be available to discuss antime tomorrow after ~12:00 noon. I'll try phoning you.

I'd love to go but the large cable provider I work for is actually open on Mondayno  I'm looking at either next Friday 2/19 or the following 2/26 as possible rides.  I like #7's plan i.e. drive up on a Thursday night, ride all day Friday, and drive home Friday night.  If anyone's interested in either of those dates, let me know.  My trailer and truck are ready to roll.  (#4, you're not invited, I don't like you)

#10,

The Coos Inn is booked solid, but the Cabot Inn has rooms and is $94 (divided by 2) much nicer and includes continental breakfast.  They have a restaurant, lounge, pool, jaquzzi and have connecting trails to corridor 5.  I've ridden those trails before and it makes much more sense to just drive over to Nash Stream.

This is last call for anyone who wants to ride on Monday.  #10 and I would prefer to go up Sunday night, ride Monday and travel home on Monday night.

We would change those plans to drive up Monday if others can only do that.  Or we could meet you in the parking lot at Nash Stream.  Cell phones work in Lancaster. Communication wouldn't be a problem.

Come on, it will be an awesome 200+ miles to the border and back.

#7,

Pittsburg has been showing 30-40% chance of snow flurries each night from what I see on weatherchannel.   Hopefully some of it is real.   Doesn't show that they will get any from this storm however...bummer!

Yes I agree if others want to go I am happy to wait until Monday morning as well, otherwise I could leave Sun. evening at some point, I'll have to nail down our schedule.

o.k. fired up the sled and gave it a once over last night.  I'll take it for a little spin around the yard tonight with this snow fall.  This morning I did a trailer check, filled the tires, packed the bearings, found the registration, etc. all set.   I got trailer locks & draw bar lock, good to go!

Regarding yoru question, how long is my drawbar, kind of a personal question don't you think?  Haha!    My drawbar is ~10.5" from Pin to ctr of ball (2" ball).  My trailer frame-bar from front of trailer cover to ctr of ball hitch is 38" (but leave room for turning clearance.

Game On!

I will take some measurements of my bed in case #388 comes. We could put one in the bed.  BTW, how long is your draw bar?

I have no time table for Sunday, I am flexible.  If we can get others to go by leaving Monday morning, I would be amenable to that as well.

It snows tonight in Groveton on top of already good conditions.

#7,

I am planning some of those very same thoughts for the get out of jail free card for VD so we can head up early.   It also will likely get me out of spending time with the mother in law too.  hehehe!    What time would you like to head out Sun. if we were to head out Sun. ?

My 2-place trailer should be fine to go, but I'll give a quick inspection and make sure Registration is up to date, just incase we end up only being a pair on this trip.

#388 are you in???

My bronco (just sitting) on the other hand was raided by mousey and smells horrible, so your truck might be a better option, unless you want to travel with the windows down.

Any one have any tips on how to rid that horrible smell ???

#10 et all,

Speaking of trailers....is yours functional, registered and safe?

Mine is a solid 2 out of 3 and should be used as a last resort. My truck is available with a flat four connector.

While I'm on the subject... who is in for a Monday ride at Groveton?

I am still available to leave either Sunday or Monday. I figure a 200 mile ride up and around the Connecticut Lakes to the Canadian Border and back.

I called the Polaris Dealership in Lancaster and they are open for NH registrations on Monday at 7:00am so I will have to stop briefly.

About Valentine's Day, be PROACTIVE.  I have sent flowers to my wife's work for arrival on Friday.  The other girls at work will see them delivered giving me extra credit. A Saturday night dinner out with the family will clear the schedule for the rest of the weekend.  I'm smarter than I look.

Haha! I hear the trap bit and I ususally take the bait quote well.

She always talks about those nonsence holidays and that they are developed by folks like Halmark (etc.) just to make Halmark (etc.) rich. We'll see ...

If nothing else a day-trip on Monday could certainly be in the cards.

#10

p.s.  #7 I have not getten my NH Registration yet either.  I might have an opportunity to do so on Thursday and could try to get your's as well if you like.  Send me all pertinent info on private email if you like.

If not on Thursday I'll take a ride with ya Saturday too, or we could get them on the way up.

The funniest part of this post is that most husbands had no idea Valentine's Day was coming!  That is awesome.

I didn't realize it was V-D either but I think I could still get out of that one if anyone's interested in Sunday still. I will ask the high comander tho just in case.

I'm in either way. I just want to ride, but I'd like to be on the sleds before 9am.

I'm not registered in NH yet, but I might just take a drive on Saturday Morning to the Yamaha/Arctic Cat Dealership in Nashua.

There is snow forecast in Groveton for today, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday on top of already good conditions.  Winter will be over in no time so clear your schedules.  A good day trip or overnight to Nash Stream is in order.

I am seriously interested, let me see how this works out. I would prefer to do the Sun. drive up, stay so we can head out early and ride 325 miles on Mon. then come home Mon. night since I leave for a week in VT early Tuesday morning (Business & pleasure mix).

I'm 80% in!

One more and we have another 4-place usage this winter.

That's one hell of a steakhouse. Do you want another shot at the 32 ounce porterhouse?  I'm game.  Coos Inn is the bargain of the century.

That's one in, who else wants in?

As you know, these are some of my favorite trips.  I would be up for a late Sunday departure and an overnight at the Coos.  It makes for a comfortable ride on Monday.  Also the evening dinner at our favorite steak house Sunday evening is well worth the trip on Sunday.  Depending on Sunday, a early evening ride could be in the works as well.  I'm in!

I apologize a thousand times #2 and former president, you are invited and probably the surest bet.

While I'm on the subject, Acting Pres #4 and his fleet of Polaris' are invited too.

Is anyone interested in a day trip to Nash Stream on Feb 15th?  Most businesses have this day as a holiday.  We could drive up Monday morning and return that night or even go up Sunday day/night and stay at the COOS Inn for $40 and return Monday night.

Whatever works for you is good for me...

I'm easy as Madonna on prom night.

My truck is available to make the trip.

Who has that itch to ride 200 miles up and around Pittsburg and back?

Come on WPRiders, I would like some responses!!!!!

#5 jump right back on that horse and show the WPR what you got
#3 log some Pittsburg miles on that stickerless rocket ship
#388 nobody buys windows on president's day-always the day after
#10 Get off the bench and into the game
#13 No business trips on President's day, come on
#99 Put your 3 blackberrys in a sandwich bag and let's go

I need to ride and someone to ride with,
