Do I remember? How can I forget? Eddie Lawson was awesome that day and Scotty Russell got what he deserved. Those bikes back in 1993 look like dinosaurs today.
#4, I was wicked impressed with the Freddy Spencer reference before I even read how super-impressed our Prez was about the same thing.
You just got my vote for WPROTY for this season. Do we still recognize that honor? Well, I recognize it in my heart.
Thanks for reeling me in #4, I appreciate it.

Ok, to make a proper and worthy WPR reference to make my point: Mark Martin is jumping to mind, and also what Schuey's return will yeild remains yet to be seen, but let's look at what John Force is doing. There are so many racing parallels to the most compelling questions in life, I thought I'd try to speak #13's language since I don't think it would have the same impact (don't ask me why I used football).
Although, he did book his site at Limerock first for this year's race weekend! My apologies #13!!! hahahaha
# 4, i am super impressed with your Fast Freddy Spencer comparison.
Speaking of famous road racers, Remember 1993 when Eddie Lawson's came out of retirement on a yamaha for a 1 up race @ the Daytona 200 and beat Scot Russell by inches. What a day

My opinion sounds cliche, but I still believe firmly in it. In a quiet moment, not in the heat of the "season", in the wisdom of Ben & Jerry just ask yourself: "am I having fun?" Then you have your answer.
It can go both ways, look at John Elway who stuck around and went out on back-to-back Super Bowl wins and now owns lots of car dealerships. And then look at Brett Farve, who can't make it to the big game, and will fade away. But then look at Kurt Warner. But then you musn't forget how Joe Thiesman's career ended. So you can never know.
Just as the great Jedi Master Yoda said before he disappeared at 700 years old, "Mmmmmmmmmmmmm." Hey, he was 700 years old.
13 years in a row taking home the big trophy. Been carrying #3 for a long time Question is, should it end here? We both have kids that are old enough to do the race with us now (although, my daughter only wants to do it if she doesnt get wet and it's above 60 degrees). Should we start competing against each other or keep the streak alive. We welcome other WPR thoughts/opinions.
ps Big thanks to #99 for letting us borrow his boat again
starts at 10am actually. I have a boat/paddles available if anyone wants to try it. It's a great time whether you are paddling hard or just enjoying the river. Lots of divisions too (adult/youth, masters, mixed etc)
The Townsend Lions Canoe race is this Saturday. Registration starts at 8am. The Race starts at 9:30. It is approximately 6 miles and you are in and out of the boat 8+ or - times. Lots of fun. Who is in?
