So you are not going to watch? There is nothing like a game 7 do or die game. The weight of the world is on their shoulders as the drama has been mounting for 6 months.
This is it, the end of the line. The baddest asses in the hoops world will show their true colors on Thursday night.
The sissies will stand around and watch as the real men take their game to a new level to get it done. Whoever wants it more will prevail. I promise you that.
I can't wait to see this game. My eyes will be glued to the set. I winner of a game 7 is a true champion.
Oops! Nice call #7, you couldn't have been more wrong, sorry. I will use this occasion as a suitable example of how silly sports fanatics are, and how ridiculous and meaningless all the hype is.
Take the NBA Finals venerated 7th game. It is a joke. By it's very definition the championship is moot. Think about it. No idea what I'm talking about? Let me explain my point of view.
By the fact that two teams have reached a game 7, that means that in the past 2 weeks or so, these two teams have just EACH WON 3 GAMES AGAINST EACHOTHER! Derr. Both home and in eachothers stadiums, after traveling, with their own - and the opposing teams fans screaming their stupid heads off. (I love the chant of "Defense...Defense" as if the sports team doesn't know what their trying to do. To be fair, it is the equivalent of the race engineers giving advice to the drivers during the race on what he must do to overtake the car ahead. Please shut up and do your job. In any event...)
So one of the teams will prevail in game 7, thereby making them the World Champions, regarded as the "best team in the game" yadda, yadda. The reality is more than likely the game will be decided by a couple of points in the last minutes of the contest. So one ball drops in here and another ball doesn't fall there, and voila, one team can claim they are superior to the other.
It's 8:53pm right now (game starts at 9pm). I'm hoping and praying for the green to finish things off tonight. Pierce will outplay Kobe in the 4th quarter to bring it home.
#7, the "they let girls play" point absolutely buried my argument - I have to concede (and I laughed my a$$ off!). Well done!
I have been watching the series, very inconsistent play. Allen sets an nba playoff record in game 2 and then can't hit the side of a barn in game 3?
By the way, what percentage of nhl hockey players are American? And why are there Canadian teams in our "national" baseball and hockey leagues?
Game 4 tonight, I'll be watching. I am a well rounded sports fan. But if you want to talk about boring, I literally can't watch the end of an nba game:
- 5 seconds of play - intentional foul - 10 seconds of play - time out - commerical - 2 seconds of play - intentional foul - time out - commercial - 5 seconds of play - time out - etc - etc - etc
Really, do you think the league could come up with any better way to absolutely destroy any kind of excitement to make a more anti-climatic way to end a contest?
Could you imagine this in racing: - race 20 feet - yellow - commercial - race 150 feet - intentional crash - commercial - race 55 feet - pit stop - you get the idea...
#7, did you watch the Indy 500? It is one of the most watched sporting events in the world. Sponsorship of the cars and TV ad revenue rivals that of the NFL's super bowl.
