That's what halftimes are for in football games. Adjustments.
Y'know, you just gave me a great idea! What if there were halftimes in races???!!! Where wholesale changes could be made to the car. It could be a whole new ballgame after halftime.
Cars would be made racier or made worse and there could be giant changes in the racing order in the second half.
what do you think?? Submit the idea to racer magazine??
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME VIDEO PRES!!!!!!! That is a really excellent camera. Looks professional. No breaks, no freezes, good sound. You got a good one!
Hours and hours of fun for you editing and splicing. In addition to being a meat smoking connisuer, I would say you are a true A/V hobbiest.
I remember you mentioning "it's all been smoked, need a change." Might I suggest going outside the box. Smoke a turkey, or vegetables, soups, maybe even fruit! You could try baking, I once ate a cake cooked on a Webber grill. That's right - baking!!!
Best of luck. A hickory smoked apple pie might be your million dollar ticket. You'll never know until you try it.
Just remember the little people who tested while you were perfecting the recipe!
no hard feelings #7. to be fair, it is #3 who brought those comments to the Land Party posts. I know when I miss an event I wish I was at, I throw stones to try and knock it down to make myself feel better. I rarely works though. All are welcome!
I am disappointed no response for #3. He knows he must. If he is being honest with himself. Maybe he is busy scouring craig's list for a wheeled ride. Actually, two.
I apologize for having a negative effect on your comfort level. I had no idea.
All future posts will be aimed at not starting to get an impression on you. Whatever that means.
I will also check with #5 prior to all my posts to see whether I am allowed to chime in. This apology post is my last post on the "family ride post". It will be left alone going forward.
Furthermore, I will not use the B word anymore (Brokeback). It's banned from my vocabulary.
Ok, now this post needs to go to another website. I think this is the same member that brought the brokeback mtn comments to another post. I'm starting to get an impression by him. It makes me uncomfortable to say the least. Leave the family ride post alone.
This weekend isn't all about getting lots of miles. #3 should know better than to focus on that. He is never about the miles. This is about passing the sport we love onto the next generation. Making memories that will last a lifetime. It just sounds like a wee bit of regret he hasn't gotten his own mini-member involved with this side of the club.
The good news is there's plenty of time! It is only a matter of a few more years before we are planning the snowmobile trip to include the younger members. It is necessary to get them to be experienced riders so it can be good solid trips for all. It doesn't happen all at once.
THE RIB EYE WAS JUST UNDER 7 LBS LIGHTLY SEASONED AND TOOK ABOUT 2 HOURS TO REACH 125 DEGREES, COOKED ON THE WEBER WITH CHERRY WOOD AND CHARCOAL BRICKETS
THE HILL...CAN'T WAIT FOR ANOTHER RUN @ IT.........

The Pres and Premier member arrived ahead of the others and set up camp. The rest arrived after sunset with dinner still thawing in the back of the trucks. The beef stew was immediately put on the burner while the fire was stoked and we unloaded into the warm and waiting Resort TNT.
As supper warmed, some end of work week beverages were enjoyed by the blazing camp fire. With no reservation, 2 + 1776 insisted work be done on 5's equipment. The bed of the truck and standing work light and bathed in the warmth of the fire made the perfect outdoor workshop. We chatted and made a plan for riding the next day while we pounded and pounded to get the 2nd wheel bearing out. 2 kept asking if we (the 2 KTM owners) are absolutely sure there is no circlip holding that bearing in with stories of his KDX as we decided to break for dinner.
We ate well, with special appreciation from the younger members that 5 did not make the stew this year (there was a slight miscalculation in the level of salt used in last year's stew). After dinner, we adjourned to the new 3 guys garage work area. Visitors from the next site over came to see what we were doing and share a story or two. It was decided it was worth a closer look when it was determined that KTM decided to follow Kawasaki's method to use a circlip. Oops. Thankfully, 1776 had a game saving tool to get the job done without getting creative (and probably destructive because there was no turning back at this point). The job done and fire dying, we turned in good time for an early start.
The riding day was warm and sunny. Breakfast sandwiches were delicious and filling. Even coffee from a "trail fix" purcolator. First over to the kid track to get the minor members started. 1776 headed over to the adult track but his engine was acting up. 2 taking 1 million pictures of the kids. I hit the track that I did not get a shot at last year due to a back injury, I was hungry to tackle it, or it tackle me.
1776 changes his plug but says it didn't help. I suggest his pilot jet is gummed w/ old fuel so he heads back to clean it. He comes back shortly after saying he had left the choke on after changing plug. It is humming along now. 3 old men hit the track and pretend we are on mx bikes as we try to improve our time. We all go back to camper to get ready for trail ride.
We decide to head out on trail 1, marked easy. The 6 rider convoy lookn good as we make the end of the trail. Much complaining by 43 even though he was doing well with the small bike. We meander around the trails and head back to the camp. I can't ride past the track so I do another dozen laps. Good fun!
Holding good fall ride WPR tradition, we down chili-dogs for lunch. The day is perfect. We head to the easy side of the trails in the afternoon. The smaller riders appreciate this area very much. They earned it. We just about cover every foot of trail this place has to offer. It was the perfect size with our crew. They need a rest and the big boys want to play. We drop them off for a spell and head to a trail called... EXTREME (c'mon, give us a break, there is nothing "extreme" about this place. 1776 says the small section of this trail he rode this morning while scouting was the easiest riding all day. We're off. Be back after dunking this trail in 30 minutes. 45 tops.
It took about 100 yards of this trail to kick our butts. 2 claims it is the hardest trail he, scratch that, any of us have ever ridden. No one disagrees. This was straight up, ledge, loose shale, wet, muddy, bouldery, twisty, you get the idea. It is more like survival than riding. Comments that this is like Romaniacs start to arise. It is a test of will and machine. We take turns manhandling our bikes up the hillside. But we get to the top. It has been an hour now, and light is fading. We promised the kids they would ride the track again today so we take another trail back and return in no time. This whole trail was MAYBE a mile long. Yep, that's right, 1 mile. And 1 hour. I think you can all do the math to figure out our average speed. Ugh.
Back to the track and everyone's having fun. I get a chance on 1776's 300. This bike was WAY better set up than my 300. The newer rake angle on this new chassis made a huge difference. The motor was strong and tractable as is the orange brand's trade mark. But these bikes are not set up for the track, that's for sure.
2 did not let up one ouce on his food offerings. Prime rib. Green beans. Potatoes. And the pie that was not consumed from the first night. Of course like any WPR event, we ate like kings. 1776 supplying the refreshments. Load up the bikes and gear and warm showers while the meat was slow cooking and a rip roaring fire to use up the wood supply. All hit the sack early with good aches and pains.
The 1st Princeton contingent was gone by 7am and the 2nd by 7:30am. 1 and 2 graciously letting us part for our kids other sporting events while they use this time to winterize and drop their mobile home away from home for storage as has become the regular routine.
thanks to all for another successful fall ride family outing. More members with mini-members would always make the outing great. Now the wheeled rv's get stowed and the tracked rv's get prepped. But first to clean the mud!!
