8 inches here in the few spots that are not affected by the winds. Wow was it windy. The etec started on the first turn of the flywheel after being put to bed all summer. It acted as if it was all warmed up. 12 to 15 miles in varied conditions in the backyard. The open areas of the fields were mostly green. The troughs of the corn fields were filed in with light puffy snow making for a smooth ride. It was good to get out.
We did establish an easy water crossing between the to fields. The water is moving pretty god so it is open. It is not that deep.
Starting this year with 202.8 on the odometer. I forgot to look at it after the ride. I will need some help to get it to read 1703 before April 15th. Any takers?
I rode in the yard again with the kids. We did some tow along the sled thing for a while. We let the dog chase us for a while. I think he had the most fun. We did some father daughter driving lessons. My best estimate is She needs another year before she's ready.
Then it was time to go solo. Let's just say you can go a little faster in daylight. The trail is pretty chewed up and there are way less saplings than 3 days ago.
fIt was a fun little ride. The Ski doo ran great.
It's good to be riding on chapter one of this season's novel.
The kids were out sledding in the yard and I asked if they wanted to go sledding behind the snowmobile. I got two yes's. There is about 3-4 inches of the beautiful white stuff on the ground outside.
We blasted around the yard 3 times getting up to 12 mph. The kids held on without any problem. They usually giggle on wipeouts. Then we decided to take the NEW trail out to the conservation land that hooks up with the old trail. It was more than wide enough and pretty awesome. I'll keep cutting these trails until I eventually get arrested.
The new trail makes a figure eight by connecting with the original turn around circle. Then the long straight away. Man it felt good to be on the sled again. I turned around several times to make sure the kids on the sled didn't wack any trees.
We went around the yard 4 more times and twice more through the woods. Then I announce it was dinner time (for them). I unhooked the sled and rode the ski doo unattached for the first time this year.
I blasted the new trail and flew down the old trail and cruised around the yard a few more times before putting the sled away with a big ole smile on my face.
A new trailer purchase is probably happening soon. I'll be ready for the season's first ride up north.
