RE: Brookline ride report 1/29/11

"True story,"  the world's greatest trailer is not IDIOT proof.  The two times that I have seen this trailer out it has had issues.

The first trip the door froze shut tight.  I took three of us and the natural forces of the sun ten minutes to set it free.

The second time out, the tie down bar failed? and the sled shifted.  Where to start?  The tie down failed?  Seriously?  I wonder if 13 failed to clamp it at all?

Next 13 claims that the sled shifted and hit the back door.  In fact, it hit so hard that it broke the welds on two of the three hinges?  Seriously?  By which mountain goat path did you come?  Was it over the top of Big Bear mtn?

50 is going to be an interesting milestone.  And only 6 more months.

Which one is 3.3? Is that your youngest? Was it on a Sno Scoot, the XC or the 440?

More snow tomorrow.

Me,#3, #3.3, and #99 left from #99's at about 7pm last night to get a quick tour of the Brookline Hollis area.  But wait, let's back up a bit...In my haste to load up,  I apparently didn't crank down my sled quite enough in the trailer and it came loose on the ride to #99'sdisbelief  Needless to say I broke 2 of the bottom hinges on my ramp.  Was still able to unload and load but does anyone know where I can get some aluminum welding work done??
Anyway, we left and experienced our tax dollars at work as the trails behind #99's house are wider, leveled and beautiful now.  As soon as we hit the higher traffic Brookline trails they quickly became "whooped out" with the warm temps of the day and high traffic.  These trails weren't terrible but I'd give them a 6.5 out of 10.  We made our way to Potanipo and did a few speed runs on the plowed lake.  There was a quite a lake party going on with about 30 sleds and lighted fishing houses but we didnt crash that party.  We headed towards Wilton and soon found 13 North (sounds like we were south of you Sarge).  We only went about 12 miles north and decided to head to Hollis in search of better groomed trails.  Once back in Hollis we found some very nice trails (although one ended up in someones yard and we all turned around in his driveway)  We passed 2 groomers and at this point #99 was doing his best #4 impression (getting all turned around less than 2 miles from his housewink  Some of these trails were posted that no riding after 9:30pm was allowed so we decided that we had a pretty fun night and eventually found our way back to #99's.  It was fun local ride and good night all around,  33 miles on the odometer.
