A guy crashed his honda accord next to my mailbox. When the cops got there, they helped the guy instead of busting the lousy driver's chops.
The cop then showed all the cool stuff in his car to my daughter. Then he told her to sit in the vehicle and blast the lights and sirens. I was hoping he would let me try next. No luck.
Just heard a story that a Townsend cop was driving down main street and observed a young boy riding a 50cc dirt bike. The youth was wearing a helmet and the bike had training wheels attached to it. He was riding in his own yard across from T-Ford. His dad was watching him as the cop pulled into the driveway. The cop wrote a written warning for the infraction and tried to hand it to the father. The father told the cop to give the warning to his son. The cop threatened to write a $250 ticket if he saw him riding the bike again.
Maybe I missed something but the way it was explained to me is that my 9 and 11 year olds can't legally ride the 120 sled, 50 cc quad (or anything else for that matter) on my own land. To your point this would be very hard to enforce and I have no plans on complying but still....
Keep in mind who these laws are intended to affect. So don't worry unless you move to a trailer park or a triple decker house. Who snowmobiles with their kids in Mass anyway? Do you think DCR cops will be out on Wyman's next winter for the first time??
No worries, just can't go out on public trails with kids under 14 on their own machine. Who's doint that now? In other words, are all trails you ride on now legal riding anyway?
Anyone want to buy my F120 and sno-scoot?? I spoke to my brother in law (fellow sledder and cop in Lunenburg) about this a couple of weeks ago. A cop now has every right to go onto your property even if he just sees a trailer and demand to know if the sleds within are registered in MA. Our kids can't even ride on our own property anymore???? Unbelievable. #3, you should move that new house of yours to NH asap
