RE: LAND PARTY 2011

Any of you guys call me Francis, and I'll kill you.

Thanks for the kind words about the Land Party!!!  It's always my favorite time of the summer.  I'll take a small crowd or a big crowd, as long as there's music.  I'm always impressed by how it all comes together.  Everyone who attends is such a big part of the weekend.

E (not #6)

Just shaking my head......reminds me of this great Movie quote

You just made the list, buddy. And I don't like nobody touching my stuff. So just keep your meat-hooks off. If I catch any of you guys in my stuff, I'll kill you. Also, I don't like nobody touching me. Now, any of you homos touch me, and I'll kill you.

I will absolutely add my significant gratitude to #6+E for their tireless efforts and supremely gracious generosity to hold such a family favorite year in and out.  THANK YOU GUYS - IT WAS AWESOME AS USUAL!!!!

It seemed to be a more intimate gathering this year, and hopes go out to all the usual suspects that they will return again next year.  We missed you!

Highlights for #5:

- The band was absolutely in my opinion the best in memory!

- Incredible starry night with crecent moon just above the tree tops as the band jammed on and on between The Stones and Miles Davis.

- Shaking my bones with old friends without a care in the world and no drive home.

But there is a tie for me as the greatest moments of the 2001 Edition of the Land Party.

- #2 calling Eminence Front.  Now although this is a great tune that I have never heard live (and never expected to) in my life before, there is a much more compelling back story to this clarvoyant call from the Pez.  While the band was setting up and warming up, they were fiddling with some kind of sequencer machine and they used the keyboard/synthesizer music of Baba O'Riley to practice to.  They seemed to be tuning in the sound and tempo to get it right when triggered during the set.  So you can imagine my shock (and delight) when the Pez calls another Who tune for no reason whatsoever (at least as far as I am aware).  He is my Prez, and I will follow where he leads.

- But as I type this I have to admit the most special moment of the weekend for me is when the Prez said the sausage/potato/pepper/onion/apple offering I prepared was "maybe the best dish" at the party.  I still get butterflies just replaying that moment in my mind.  So beautiful.  I'm tearing up.  If that means I have a thing for my Prez, then so be it.  I've always said "I'm a little bit gay" (I like jazz, big band and classical music, thoroughly enjoy a delicious tea and scone, can tolerate some time in an art museum and can put together wonderful women's outfits - I will defend by saying some of it is the most brilliant music ever recorded/played and I simply know what I want to see my girl in.  If that's a little bit gay, then I'm guilty as charged).  It's not attraction anyway, it's respect for all the delicious scrumptous awesome meat dishes he has prepared that I've had the fortune to enjoy.  That's why it meant so much.

For all of you in this club that don't go.  You're missing out.

Another year has come and gone, Once again # 6 and E have taken this weekend to another level. Thank you providing us this awsome playround to run wild, be free with nature, camping, hanging with freinds, listening to live music, eating tons of food, drinking many beverages and of course HULA HOOPING.

The quote of the night "who brings a disco ball to the woods"

The video i wish i had Johny "the cactus" Rotten

Euphoric moment of the night: walking in from the power lines to Franklins Tower, it was just like "Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny" movie when he traveld through the colorful woods.

I was able to capture approx 2 hour of music Music Link

seey you next year
