RE: fall meeting

I'm glad there's still enthusiasm for the club and equally important enthusiasm for the annual trip.

I enjoy a few days of riding a with the boys and genuinely look forward to it all year.

I greatly appreciate the group's consideration regarding my schedule.

No two ways about it, I'll be at the next meeting.

2012 season opener mtg recap:

attendance: #'s 2, 3, 388, arriving late 5, so this recap only includes the 2nd half of the meeting notes.

seeing that I missed the sauna and cool dip, and the putting of ribs and meat pie courtesy #2 on the grill, I once again felt like johnny-come-lately.  But better late than never (by the way #7, please read the posts more carefully, I never said not to make your preferences known if you couldn't attend the meeting, I said to post your preferences if you can't make the meeting so those considerations can be factored into the discussions at the meeting).

We immediately delved into deep conversation on important topics such as... beer (#2 will hopefully post a custom bottle that was unveiled), new sled technology, how to smuggle #388 back into the country, Cunningham sightings, the elevation of wyman's, #5's seemingly incriminating indescresion, best and worst roommates, and a breakout session comparing WPR meat pie meals: Club Odanak v. Relais La Cache v. The Forks.  [the Relais won hands down for those keeping score].

So if you're still reading this, you are probably keenly interested in the important details that were discussed regarding the 2012 annual trip.  Well your patience will now be rewarded.  Here are some of the critical things that were agreed upon at this meeting for the upcoming trip:

- we will use snowmobiles

- we will travel outside of Massachusetts

- we will go fast, but we will always follow WPR code to "ride with safe spacing"

- we will go somewhere where there is snow and snowmobile trails

- we will use trailers to bring the snowmobiles and trucks to pull them

- we will dress warm and wear helmets at all times while riding

- we will eat food and drink fluids, some will contain alchohol (but not while riding)

- all [male] WPR members are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend

- we will not go on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd business days of any month

- #5 will not have to sleep on the floor on couch pads with gaps in between and nothing but a thin sheet to cover him at any point in time (unless he chooses to do so, and even then he will have a bed allocated to him for use at any time during that stay)

- accomodations will only be approved if there is a fondue pot available (does not apply to U.S. destinations)

- we will have lots of fun

Well, I think that about sums it up.  Even though we have basically planned the entire trip this year at this meeting, we will more than likely continue to hold meetings just to get together, have a few, chat snowmobile, visit eachother and get ready.

Oh, and I currently have the Cote Nord presentation binder which I am carefully reviewing.  I will bring it to the next meeting for the next reviewer before voting.

A big thanks to #3 for opening up his beautiful compound for the kickoff meeting again this year, it is greatly appreciated by the club.

There was a frost here on Saturday am.  It's not long now.

I  can not attend either (kids soccer practice and wife working until 8:30).  Since #7 is breaking the rules, so will I.  I'm lobbying for a trip to northern Maine, NH, or even south side of St. Lawrence,  with 3 full days of riding and a travel day on each end (which could include some riding for those hard core riders).  I'm also pushing for this to occur over a weekend (Sat -Wed, Th - Mon, Fri - Tues, you get the picture..)  Just trying to not burn a whole week of vacation...  13

I will not be able to attend this evening. I have #2's mother as my guest for the evening. She's helping with my wounded Jr member who had his tonsils out this week.

I thought I would be able to come, but now I cannot. Insert response to lame excuse here _________________.

Just for sh & giggles I will put my 2 cents in despite #5's rule about being there at the meeting to get your trip preferences in.

I cannot attend if the trip is on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd business day of any month. That's the only deal breaker for me.

I prefer to go to Maine-Katahdin area out of cabins, a non progressive ride. Gaspe is always fun. Cote' Norde won't get any objections from me.

I'll pretty much go anywhere except out west.

good luck this evening and my apologies to #3, #2 and #5

What will it be in 2012?

- January or March?

- Canada or U.S.?

- 3 days of riding or 4?

- Cabin or hotel rooms?

- Progressive or home base?

- Loop or Up and Back?

- 4 place or individual trailers?

- How many members will attend this edition: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7?

You must be at the meeting or post to make your wishes known!

It is clearly the slogan for this season: LET'S GO!!

I can be there between 6pm and 7pm.  A boat launch seems like a lot of work. Don't go to any great lengths on my account.

I look forward to an unprecedented third year in a row of #2's Cote' Nord presentation.

I'm curious to hear each members' suggestion for this year's destination.

OF COURSE!  I can't pick a night without something coming up!!  The school has put parent night for one of my jr. members.

However, I will still make it to the meeting on the 19th.  I will only be able to arrive after 8pm.  I hope that is not too late.

Are we coordinating food things at meetings this year or just bring what you're feeling?

Quick questions:

What time should we arrive?

Is there the possibility of a boat ride?

Shamefully, I have not had the pleasure (or dedication) to make a meeting at the #3 north compound.

This year I will do everything in my power to make it.  How about a Monday night?  I'll throw out the 19th.

I'm a little disturbed by the "sausages cooking on the sauna rocks" comment, but I'll be there anyway.

Wednesdays are bad for me, all other days are good.

I like the early September sled talk.

For all you you excited to see 13 at the next meeting, don't hold your breath.  He won't make it.

Docks are out.  Wellmaybe that is not entirely true.  The fact is that 3c and I can now do it alone due to some Delaney engineering.

What's it to you anyway.   You won't come.

Hello Boys.

The 1st issue of sno-tech arrived today.  That means we need to have a meeting at my place on the South side of Rindge.  Does anyone have any dates to suggest?
