Here is a link to discussion for the trail. Over 1000 miles, I hope this isn't one direction? It breaks down mileage between major points. Looks like a 10-day trip. Start packing.

I'll be looking back for ya on the White stuff. :-) Keep the rubber side down! #10
Had kids so I apologize for not making the meeting. I got a call from them prez asking if I had been to the page so I felt compelled to come and visit. I can already tell the site is going downhill by the lame photogragh of some matchbox car on the home page...what happened to snowmobiling?
On a side note, I have bookmarked this page on my Toshiba thrive tablet since I had to get rid of that thing called an IPad 2. Life is so much better without apple.
I will bring something to cook on the grill. And beer. There is a scout meeting that night so I will arrive at my usual time.
I have carefully reviewed #2's Cote Nord (which means North Shore) and I have to judge it to be a very intimidating ride. They speak about the people that live here have super-human ruggedness and resiliency. The intrepid snowmobiler who logs 20,000 miles a season couldn't even keep his planned ride, and he needed a guide. Remember it took us 3 years just to get to Jonquiere - and he bases out of there.
The compelling fact that the name of the ride matches exactly the name of the road that WPR HQ is on does not escape me. Is it our destiny???
We will all feel brave as we troll the waters of our homeland talking about how we will conquer this untamed wilderness from the safety of the pontoon boat meeting. Reading this write up, which is supposed to get you to want to visit this ride, I had flashbacks of the mental checklist I was going through in my mind of what I can burn on my snowmobile if I run out of gas before reaching Hotel Safari with Big John in order to survive the night just minutes away from civilization.
I'm not saying we shouldn't continue to look into it further, I am saying this ride should be approached with significant preparation and additions to our riding gear, and with a conscience recognition of the magnitude of the endeavor.
I think basing out of the Casino would work well. We know first and last nights would be great, secure parking for trucks/trailers, and if I recall less than half a day to cross the Seg to be on never-before ridden trails by wpr members. The drive is not that much further than St. Anne du Beaupre.
