RE: Ride Report...without riding

I can't make it this Sat/Sun but would love a day out.

I have a lot of shake up's going on at work so may not be able to make this years trip as well, but let's see as the date draws near.

I'm thinking this Saturday or this Sunday for a day trip to Nash Stream. It is open. Check this link:

My trailer is registered and my truck is ready to go. I can pick up whoever and drop off whoever, no problem.

I don't believe my bed is big enough to put a sled in there.

That's an interesting question, I can't recall not riding until March.  I know #18 and #1776 have done that.  Do you remember the couple years we did the vernal equinox rides?  Those were their first (and last) rides of the season.

You're right though, I suppose we can't wait for the snow to go this year.  I'm ready to go, it's now or never I'm guessing.  Weekends would be tough for me (working Saturdays and Sunday's are recovery day).  But not out of the question.

What are you thinking?

I took the long day trip up to Twin Mountains, really Bretton Woods for a day of skiing with the family. We got up early and went balls out for two hour before we stopped. There's a popular McDonald's exit along the way at the Tilton, NH.  I saw four trailers with snowmobiles stopping for extra value meals. I even saw a 2005 Ski Doo 800 in red.  I questioned why I was traveling with skis instead of a snow-mo and trailer.

When we got to "The Notch" we found ourselves in the middle of a whiteout snowstorm.  There was a good base on the ground already and it thickened as we trecked further north.  We saw a couple trailers at the trail head near Twin Mountain.  We skied through the snow storm for most of the day. Bretton Woods is a pretty good ski area for family fun and we all enjoyed ourselves.

We need to get up north for some riding prior to March. Reminder, the next month after this is March. Have we ever not made it up north by February before?????

Diamond Pond is ready. Groveton is close. Pittsburg is in great shape. Let's get a trip headed north soon.
