It's funny, as I explain to people what a WPR meeting is I tell them that traditionally we have 3 pre-season meetings each with a specific goal.
Meeting #1 - September - Members are to bring ideas and suggestions with some level of research to present.
Meeting #2 - October - We vote on destination and dates for the annual trip.
Meeting #3 - November - We nail down final details, count committed members, make reservations and establish trailering and sleeping arrangements.
So according to this schedule, we are a little behind. The next meeting will be busy as we need to pick a place, dates, count who's going and make reservations. This post is just reminiscing, I am not saying we will plan a trip at the next WPR meeting. I could propose a new process.
Mtg 1: Drink beer and laugh with friends, some of whom snowmobile, take a sauna and a paddle boat ride.
Mtg 2: Drink beer and laugh, eat something, watch a game and a race.
Mtg 3: Drink beer and laugh, talk about how much we really need to go snowmobiling this year.
Mtg 4: Drink beer, sulk a little bit that we aren't snowmobiling enough and need to go on a club trip.
Mtg 5: Give high fives on the trail of a great ride!
I had a great time at the meeting as well. The Jumblaya was outstanding. I was looking forward to it all week and it really hit the spot. The basement really came out good and was conducive to both SnowMo dialect and beer consumption.
I'm thinking that any trip, big or small, would really revive the club. Our sleds need to be run despite our busy schedules.
I'm taking the first step by registering my trailer this week. Who's making the next step? Dates proposed? Adventure spot proposed? Go ahead and throw it out there...
For those of you that missed it, and there were not many members that did, we had a fantastic meeting last night. The stage was set with the Patriots victory earlier in the day. The night was capped off with the Sox win. The food was excellent. The music, not so much. I guess we radio listeners have to expect that at WPR events. Thanks 5. Well done.
This is nothing more than a cheap ploy from #3 in a weak attempt to sabotage what promises to be another solid meeting outing (or inning?) by me to pull ahead in WPROTY standings. It won't work #3, there will be a meeting here tonight at 6pm. It will have have positive energy, and snowmobiling theme to keep us in a right state of mind for the upcoming season. Once I start getting issues of SKI magazine, my mind is set on snow.
Last night was the annual town Howler event and several who stopped here to drop or pick up kids commented on the wonderful smell that filled the house of that traditional creole dish. It is steeping in its juices for the day today and should be just right in time for the meeting. It will be served in the lower dining hall this evening. Yes #7, I think it will pair nicely with Long Trail - thank you! I had a wonderful Alt beer from them last week called Double Bag, it was phenomenal. I am told it had been reserved and only served at their brewery in the past but is now being offered in a limit release.
So this is to confirm on this gorgeous Sunday morning that a WPR meeting is on for this evening at 6pm. If anyone needs directions I will send directly to you. We will know the results of the Pats game and will talk about an unprecedented World Series Game 3 ending on a vaguely interpreted "obstruction" call. The Bruins may be on as well.
See y'all later. I wonder if #4 will attend? He is welcome as are all officially registered WPR members. I hear non-snow riding member #1776 will make an appearance.

Well said #3, except for "Stooges", I don't know where or what that is. Is that a bar?
I feel strongly that we should accept his #5's invitation and go to his house. I'd like to say hi to Krista and his boys. They are always interesting, insightful and full of things to talk about.
If the conversation starts drifting it is the senior members of the club's job to get us back on track.
Personally, I think #6 place will be fair game for riding this winter. He always like to ride when there's decent snow.
I want to ride this winter. I have a truck, sled and trailer. That and someone to ride with is all that is required.
I am surprised, well actually "SHOCKED" by the negativity coming from the purposed host so early in the season. Maybe we should change our course. I am now starting to question the next venue. Should we have a our next meeting in such a hostile setting? Perhaps Stooges might be more appropriate. #5, Please let the venom go. You of all our members should know better than most that the months of Oct, Nov, and December for snowmachine riders are the month of possibilities. Let's make it happen. Let's go!
There is already a family event planned here for the afternoon - so an early start is not possible. I am thinking a 6pm start will not mean a late night.
Then football will not interfere with snowmobiling chatter. Although I will go out on a limb and predict that there will not be much going on in the way of planning anything snowmobile related. There will be an open question of whether or not riding from #6's land will be offered this year or not. I wonder.
We could also discuss the state of the 4-place. I know of a 2004 Arctic Green F6 EFI w/ 3000 miles in near perfect condition for sale for $2,500. I only mention this as a painful reminder of how much was over spent on the 1995 440. It is still in need of lower radius arm repair. I need to get moving on getting that taken care of.
The Patriots vs. Dolphins game is at 1pm on Sunday, 10/27. It will be for first place in the AFC East. I suggest either a 1pm or 5:30pm start. Let me know your thoughts.
I am hoping this is not a waste of time. I have to be honest. Your credibility is suspect. If for some reason you can't make it, will you please leave the food on the front steps? I look forward to the main dish. Your version of jumbalaya was the first that I've had that was rice based. I usually see it made with tortaleaneesssss.... How my Italian?
Ok, I am penciling in the 27th as we wait for more responses.
#7, I'm not sure about the full size shrimp, I like the mini ones for this dish. I was thinking about shredding the chicken, will that work?
#3, I feel an obligation to host a meeting in the sub-level. Just as #10 did over his garage once it was completed. It just seems right to me. Remember we had one in my garage once, and one in #2's garage complete with sleds to sit on and maybe spin a wrench on a bit. Yes, it is true, that I must attend, and the fact that the 27th is the last day of the school break means no excuses. I welcome my snow machine brethren with open arms, and open throttle.
How about Sunday, Oct 27th? Does that fit into anyone's calendar?
#5 you need to make the Jambalaya to my liking...with spicy rice, full size shimp and lots of chicken. I'll take it served to me in a cake mixing bowl with either a giant spoon or snow shovel. Oh and don't forget cold beer.
Ah, Pres, now I see, #7 masterfully announces that he cannot make a date and then neglects to offer another one.
#7, are we to just keep guessing at dates until we happen to hit one that works? By offering a date, others can check their calendar, otherwise it's just a bunch of blank weeks.
Would members prefer a weekday or weekend date? The week of Oct 20-26 is good for me (no school).
So let me understand this? 5 want to have a meeting in the sub level of his castle. What could be his possible motives?
1 He wants to show off his newly finished handy work? Possibly?
2 He wants to show off his cooking skills? The jumbolyyyyya was excellent.
3 He needs a familar setting to profess his love for NASCAR?
This is my guess. 5 knows that if he hosts, he has to attend. Surely he wouldn't leave the active members of the club standing hostless in his driveway?
I cannot do the 25th (or 26th) back to back phish shows. I will also not sugest an alternative date since this practice seems to be in vougue these days.
but i I cannot wait for another meeting

I would be privileged to host the next WPR meeting at the newly renovated "Lower Level" hideaway in nearby Princeton. It features plenty of free parking, a private direct entrance, lights, a high "pub style" table with seating for 8, couches, dedicated beer fridge, wood burning stove, and yes, for the first and only time at this location, an actual HD flat screen TV courtesy of the new management. (feel free to bring HD snowmobile DVD's b/c I'm too cheap to pay for HD programming).
Since it was well received last time, I may be motivated (time permitting) to try another jambalaya! So bring the appropriate beverage to accompany that.
Oh yes, the most difficult part of scheduling a WPR meeting - picking a date. Let's see I'll toss out Thursday the 24th or Friday the 25th.

ps> This offer in no way mitigates the motion that I already hosted the first WPR meeting of the season. If it wasn't for that awesome sauna I'd have this thing locked up already! Drat - that sauna is a clincher for #3!
This is a formal call for a badly needed second meeting to discuss the purposed Montana / Yellowstone trip. We hold get a better handle on the numbers.
