I'm in. You can book it. The site says there is a "Two night minimum stay". I figure we can just pay for the weekend. It's pretty reasonable.  Or I'd even be willing to take Friday off from work.

I also have AAA that might help with the booking. We can take my truck and trailer too if that helps get things rolling.  There is still one more spot available in the #7 mobile or else we need a second truck.

Thanks to all of those who attended and made the October meeting a success.  Once again good food, good drink and friends make these events special.

I like the idea of members renting a cabin up north for the winter.  That is exciting.  The Forks trip also sounded interesting. It would be fun to have a big group attend.

11/5 sounds good.

See you then...

Many thanks to #3 for once again kicking off the pre-season meeting season in style.  The air was brisk but attending members #2, #3 and (later) #5 lubricated up for the evenings events.  Once pre-game prep was completed we went a couple rounds in the beautiful family built sauna alternating with plunges into the chilly water.  Wonderful!

Much was discussed, and even snowmobiling came up once or twice incidentally.  But mostly about hydroplane boats, colleges and how badly VW is going to pay.  We also trashed all the members who did not attend.

The Pres has already identified the next meeting date.  I will host or will pick the next meeting location.  If members can't make the 11/5 date, please pipe up in the coming weeks.  We can move it to the Friday if that's better for folks.  Let's make the attendance grow with each meeting.

Here's to a great upcoming season!  What year is it for WPR?  We should keep track of this stuff...  Who's the secretary in this club?  Was it #23?  He should be fired.  Speaking of which, here's a financial report.  Club funds = $0.

Gentlemen, I'm sorry I could not make the first meeting of the year. Work ran later than expected. Exhaustion and sanity were tested last evening.

Were there any ideas for 2016 floated about at the meeting? Was Aroostock County brought up at all?

I suspect we will spend the winter chasing the snow. Hopefully there will be a New England reciprocal weekend. I would like to try riding some new ground.

Someone please provide a brief synopsis of the meeting and leave out the sweaty smelly men part of the story.

See I told you after Sept my world opens up - I am in for tonight!!  It is sad and ironic that #7 and I seem to be on exact opposite schedules, beginning of month is open for me and end of month closed, and he is the opposite.

Which sauna? some members forget that most people don't have to worry about clarifying a question like that.

Hockey practice starts at 7 and is an hour but I shouldn't be too late to the meeting after returning the kid to home.

Is everybody geared up for Tofurkey!!?!?!?!!  Don't worry, I won't.

Too bad 7 can't make it.  It is our loss.  Traditionally he brings a lot of enthusiasm to the group.  The sad part is that he had an opportunity to pick a date that worked.

10/1 I will list myself as very doubtful or very late.

That is the first business day of the month and also first day of the third quarter. It is a day that I generally work from 5am until approximately 7pm.

in typical fashion everyone is afraid to pick a day.......so I am going to change the pace

wpr meetings for the 2015/2016 are as follows

10/1 Sauna night (if the offer is still available )

11/5 tbd

12/3 tbd

also, you must attend a meeting to then host a meeting....trying to weed out the fair weather fans

So all we need now is a date for this meeting. Wednesdays are out for me. I'm available most other days. Throw something out there...it might just stick.

I think it would be helpful to throw some ideas for perhaps a weekend ride, maybe even a longer ride.

I would like to ride Maine (not Feb 14-19th I'm booked for a Utah ski trip) from a cabin or hotel in Caribou/Ft Kent area some Friday through Sunday with 2.5 days or riding. Drive early AM hours Friday and get on the road by 2pm on Sunday.

This would replicate my initial trip with this club to Aroostock County. It's been 14 years of chasing that tremendous first snowmobile high.

I boldly offer my Truck, Trailer and Truck bed (3 sleds).

Notice how my post doesn't even mention the pain and utter disappointment I bear still of never winning WPROTY.

The therapy is working, I am able to cope and still live my life.

Haha...  hickjacked your own post...  that's hilarious!

I am in for a meeting, September is the traditional month for the first meeting, but that's when we had a trip to plan.

Remember when...

- Members would come prepared with printouts and facts and suggestions.  I recall a binder presentation one time.

- There was a buzz of enthusiasm and jockeying to get their trip voted on

- chachkeys and swag were handed out in hopes of swaying votes

- members wore their colors, even if they were obnoxious bumble bees and gaudy lightning emblazoned checkered flags

- videos of stuff no member of the club could ever even attempt played in the background

- members grilled and served their favorite fall banquet and offered the finest autumn brews

- sometimes wrenches spun

- always a good time was enjoyed by all who attend

Props to #3 to start it up again, the club rides are not what they used to be, but there are always members the keep the dream alive.  I know I have a medal to prove it.  My second most cherished WPR recognition (first is being awarded WPR Hillclimb Specialist ).

I would love to host a meeting in the lower level again.  I would prefer to do this after September as it is a very busy time for me until the month is closed.  Where is 136?

Ok. Maybe a meeting is not a good idea?  It must be too early in the season?
