I couldn't agree more. I went skiing with youngsters over the break and we just bundled up and it wasn't that bad out there. Plus we need cold weather riding testing for this trip, no matter what the temps around here will be at the end of this month, they will almost certainly be cold like this up where we're headed.
I need to get a mile on this new machine before heading out for 4 days progressive. I am starting a new job on Jan 8 so it will be difficult to take a weekday before the trip - but I have already confirmed the trip days off. I have ordered the utility rack and matching bag for the new machine, they are on their way to me for mounting. Gauntlets will absolutely be used with this smaller windscreen. I will shop for mirrors as well, although this sled came with the one that you can wear on your wrist like a watch.
The only maintenance I plan to do is chaincase oil. I have already removed the fabric softener sheets as part of my pre-trip prep with some help to locate as many as I could find! what else is everybody doing? I know #7 added carbides to his skis.
And also, I understand communicators are making a comeback this trip. I will get the recharge methodology worked out. Don't worry Riders, I promise to use restraint now that the novelty is worn off.
I was just going through some WPR snowmobile pictures from the last two seasons and I was thinking we need some new ones. Hopefully this frigid front passes and we can get some riding in soon.
