FROM # 7

·         These matches are 3 teams vs. 3 teams all day long.

·         There are 12 matches to decide the playoff seeding.

·         Dougs team went 8-4, pretty good. I kind of think they got screwed on the seeding, a 6-6 team got 13th????

·         In the preliminary competition they finished 15th out of 41 teams in the qualifying.

·         8 teams make the playoffs, each playoff team must pick two additional teams to work with in the playoffs

·         Dougs team was the last team chosen for the playoffs

·         In the first round of the playoffs the swept their opponents 2-0

·         In the second round they won their first match, lost their second match and then won the third. OMG I was so worried

·         In the finals they barely won the first match and had a big last second comeback in the last match to win the whole thing

It was awesome. Im so happy for him. I kept praying, just let these kids have this one thing.

Good afternoon

From: John McCaffrey

As you've likely already heard, I'm writing to tell you the great news that the Iron Tigers won the RI Championship this weekend at Bryant University!

It wouldn't be possible without all the many hours of support from the school, from our mentors, the parents, and our sponsors. A special thank you to all for your support this year. We would also like to thank our alliance partners Team 6328 Mechanical Advantage from Littleton MA and Team 2168 The Aluminium Falcons from Groton CT. And we want to congratulate teams 3236, 3623, and 1100 who we faced in the finals and were very worthy competition.

The team is extremely excited about this accomplishment, the first time we've ever won a district competition (we lost in the finals twice last year). It was a very tense nail-biter in the final; we pulled ahead in the last seconds to win 354 to 347. We also walked away with a hard-earned Team Safety award, special congrats to our Safety Team for having their hard work recognized.

Congrats to our team for persevering through multiple challenges and for never giving up! A huge thanks again to everyone involved!IMG_3504.jpg
