Does he have any left? His showroom was empty and told me he is having a great year

I talked to a guy @ diamond ponds gas pumps with an xp 800 (his buddy had one also) just under 1000 miles and said he would never ride anything else. 106-mph on his speedo memory

I am sure he has 10000 other reasons.

Big money for a 600, good luck with that. Even Culleys questions the durability of the new Doos.

Fuggetaboutit,

Get this instead:

Ski-Doo 2009 MX Z TNT E-TEC early release E-TEC direct injection, the latest in fuel induction technologyAmSnow Staff1/15/2008The 2009 Ski-Doo TNT E-TEC is lightweight with virtually no smoke or smell.

With the 2009 Ski-Doo TNT E-TEC, many will only have to add oil just once per season. Ski-Doo leans ahead again with the introduction of the Rotax 600 HO E-TEC engine. [larger image] Ski-Doo released late yesterday the Rotax 600 H.O. E-TEC engine that powers a special 2009 Ski-Doo MX Z TNT snowmobile, available now in limited quantities.

Ski-Doo pioneered E-TEC direct injection 2-stroke technology in its Evinrude outboard engines, where it won the Clean Air Technology Excellence Award from the US Environmental Protection Agency. This E-TEC system, developed specifically for snowmobiles, delivers several benefits:

Fuel Economy - At 21 mpg US/25 mpg CDN, the 600 H.O. E-TEC uses 15% less fuel than the current Rotax 600 H.O. semi-direct injection (SDI) engine, 78% less fuel than the Polaris 600 CFI and 92% less than the Arctic Cat 600 EFI according to Ski-Doo.

Oil Economy - Most owners will have to add oil just once per season because of the added precision of the system's electronic oil pump and sophisticated computer mapping. The 600 H.O. E-TEC uses half the oil of the SDI and Polaris 600 CFI, and just a third the oil (66% less) of the Arctic Cat 600 EFI.Emissions/smoke and smell - The 600 H.O. E-TEC is the cleanest 2-stroke snowmobile engine by a wide margin, meaning there's virtually no smoke or smell.Lightweight - Because of its 2-stroke configuration, the 600 H.O. E-TEC is naturally lightweight for better handling and reducing rider fatigue. The MX Z TNT with 600 H.O. E-TEC model weighs just 415 lbs. (188 kg).Hassle-free ownership experience - Engines with E-TEC technology start on the first pull every time; run with a super smooth idle and instant response; the platinum-tipped spark plugs are warranted for 3 years; and feature the industry's first automatic summerization function.600 H.O. E-TEC owners will save real money over the course of a season. And the instant throttle response and near elimination of smoke and smell will make this engine a pleasure to own and ride for sure.Ski-Doo's 2009 MX Z TNT Specs:Engine: 600 HO E-TEC, 2-stroke liquid cooled, 3-D RAVE, 2-cylinderMaximum engine speed: 8,100 rpmExhaust: Single tuned-pipe, baffle mufflerSki Stance: 47 in.Front Suspension: Dual A-arm front suspension w/KAYABA HPG T-A alu.Rear Suspension: SC-5 w/KAYABA HPG T-A alu.

Track: 15x120x1-in. RipSaw
Fuel Tank: 10.6 gal.
Dry weight: 415 lbs.Price: $9,549

10.6 x 21mph = 222 miles per tank.

#5,

You were in and out like a cold shower. I love it. Thanks for keeping the sales forum public. Great entertainment! What do you need a parts sled for anyway?

Thanks for your understanding #13, I'm a bit embarrassed at this little charade.  But since I was getting a bit excited about the whole thing, I will toss my sled on Ebay and see if there are any bites before I give up entirely.

I thought I had #10 sold for a little bit on the ride today, but he just couldn't get past riding The Star.  The Ski-doo yellow runs deep in his veins.

Tail between legs,

No problem.  I'm not going to actively sell it until next year so if anything changes let me know...

I even gave the recommended 3 day cool off period before saying anything, but I guess it wasn't enough.  #23 said it was a go on Saturday but wrote me an email today saying he wasn't going to do it.  So I have no buyer for my sled at this point.

Sorry, #13, I hate when people do stuff like this, but I'll keep an eye out for a buyer for my sled but it looks like it's on hold for now.  Sorry again, my loss.

Hi,  I was waiting until Feb to get it tuned up so you should probably do all the things you mention although I did have it tuned a year ago..  I don't know about the picks (I left it at Kenny's and the next thing you know it had picks!!)  The carbides (dual 6 inches) are in decent shape but I planned on replacing them this year.  I have no cover.  You can pick it up this weekend if you want(mornings work best)  just pay me whenever (as long as it's before the March trip!)

OK #13, looks like you my distributor this season.  #23 will take my XC so I guess I will take your Classic.  I told #10 I'm having a hard time getting past the fact that I will be riding a sled with cursive writing on it - I thought those days were way behind me and way ahead of me!  Ha!

He said he would need a few weeks to put the money together but I could front all the money to you depending on when you wanted to do this?  I would like to use the Classic for the Feb ride in NH (date not picked yet) so I will have time to fine tune it and so forth.

I also want to add 24 picks (do you remember what kind and length you installed and what type of backers?)  I also need to add a power plug for my electric sheild and the buckles for the saddle bags.  Were the power valves cleaned this year?  Chaincase oil changed?  Need carbides?  When were the shocks last serviced?  Are you starting to regret you offered this yet??  You never let me know if you have a cover for this sled, I will need to get one if it will be on an open (4 place) trailer to Canada this year.  I can already hear the cha-ching!

Let me know what timing works for you and I will come and pick it up.  Thanks.

WOW. What a Laydown sale! Nice choice of sleds #5. I don't know who told you the edge out performs the M-10, but they must have been smoking something other then Marlboro's. Do you remember Big Johns sled? Next year you could upgrade to the Air wave kit for $800 and have possible the best suspension on the market. 700 VES was even more solid than your 600. If I had the cash I would have bought the sled yesterday while you were up North.

If price isn't important,  I meant $4100, not $3100biggrin   It does have picks (96 down the middle, with 1 or 2 broken but not pulled through)  Thanks for the update.  13

allright, #13, I'm back on the grid - I think you know where I was all day yesterday (just think, you had information even my boss didn't have!  shhhh).  All should take note that the Pres is always watching the site - even on ride days.  I'm looking forward to writing this ride report.

I understand your strong desire to take this discussion offline, but the reality is the price is not that important to me in this decision.  I'm fine w/ the price, I really don't think I will have to add anything (other than a handlebar riser) since you're including all the goodies (thank you) (do you have a cover for that sled?) (how about a shop manual for that sled?  that last question was a joke!!)  I'm sure it has picks yes?

There's really two other parameters that will drive this decision.

1. I have a friend (he is a member actually, #23) who wants to upgrade his sled and I have to find out if he wants to buy mine.  One of the reasons is so he can make trips north again (so the high miles on that sled will still be haunting me).  I will get that answer asap.

2. More importantly, I have to decide if I want to change my snowmobile from a Polaris XC to a Polaris XC.  I know this makes no sense to the Pres - I understand where he is coming from.  I don't have any doubt that I would rather be on your sled for Canada, but what about all our other riding?  My understanding is that the Edge rear skid outperforms the M-10 the more the aggressive the riding.  The only question is: do I still want to ride "aggressively" (wait till you read the report that there is no doubt the Pres is still an aggressive rider!)

#13, I will not dilly-dally on this, I will let you know shortly whether this is something I will do.  Thanks for your quick response.  And for the record, the Mini Z was one of the easiest and best purchases I've ever done.  (By the way, those are the metal skis you gave me (wheel Kit removed) since the plastic ski saddles are damaged beyond repair.)

I am envisioning myself on an "old man" sled.  I think it's working.  This morning my back tells me to go for maximum comfort.  Plus I like the silver color.  That's always a good reason to buy a sled.

Go Pats!

# 5 didn't you learn your lesson after your last purchase from # 13 smile.gif

I bet you could pickup 1776 sled for for an even trade and then take that pick money to the Roast beef Sandwich shops in QC.

Good luck with your decision

#5,

It's a buyers market. If there was no snow on the ground then $1,900 would take it. As they say in the movie Brave Heart "HOLD". Don't make the mistake of taking these negotiations private.

#5,

Submit a $2,500 offer, ask for extras and watch him eat the cheese. A great deal for the both of you. Everyone is happy. Was this the sled that was parted out along the trail in Canada a couple of years ago by the group?

Funny you bring this up, I was thinking about selling it this year.  It's an 03, 3300 miles, brand new battery. Tank bag and windshield bag (with all darts I might addbiggrin) It's the most comfortable sled I've been on.  The speedo light went out on the last ride but all others work (I'm sure you could take care of that).  NADA says average retail=$3900 (don't know what they're smoking given this economy) and low retail as $2935.  I'd like $3100 for it.  You can pick it up on Sunday if you like!

#13,

I want to help you get to your goal of a smaller emissions footprint.  Think of this offer like the big pollution offenders purchasing Green Credits from the people that actually care about our air quality.

How much for the silver XC700 (how many miles on it?)  You know I've always secretly coveted that machine since you got it.  Electric start, electronic reverse, M-10.  mmmmmmm.

I will buy that sled from you and slap a backrest on it and take it to the Gaspe.  If the price is right, could I be enticed to stay on the old XC chassis for a little longer?  What say you?  Like an offer on a property - I want an answer in 24 hours.
