If Yamaha puts the 150hp (my current motor) in the Nytro, I'm in, they will most likely build a 136" Nytro as it sits now. Possible talk of New Designed Apex with 165+hp...I'm also in. Larry told me yesterday the Nytro gives the Apex all it can handle in the 660'-1/4 mile due to gearing, after that the Apex walks away, but it's (Nytro)not a great groomed trail sled. Geared lower, no wind protection, made for the big bumps, he claims a Nytro gassed up is the same weight as a 07' MXZ 800 gassed up. Yamaha is close!

Funny, after investigating for a possible new sled purchase this season I actually sided heavily towards the Nytro also. Yes me not riding a Ski-Doo....could it e true?

Anyway, due to the large expenditure on the perhaps the most valued stone of our culture, no new sled for dave this year.

Maybe I'll be looking at the Nytro again next year. Can we say package deal....

# 5 the Nytro is very nice, in fact much nicer in person. The ergos felt perfect. Billerica motor sports has one under $10K

Snowtrax just profiled this sled. They had allot of good things to say about it,
"best motor yamaha ever produced"
"2 stroke performance"
"atv style ergos"
The hand warmer will burn your gloves off so be careful

The big con was ski's (not # 10) and Front end handling @ speed. They claimed they have adjusted everything but could not get it fixed. They seemed to think is was mainly the outdated ski design, there other con was the hand-warmer control there quote was "the only system you can't ride and adjust the control @ the same time" ?

maybe in a few year's.....hmmmmm

I'm with you #5.  Granted, I'm "only" on the Venture lite" but that little fuel injected 4 stroke pulls as hard as my 700 up to about 50mph.  That's with a 144 in. track and no picks.  Top end seems to be about 75mph.  It's so darn smooth and quiet, it's really a completely different feel than a 2 stroke.  I replaced the stock single 3 inch carbides (what a joke) with dual 6 inchers and think I need to play with the front suspension and or limiter strap (listen to me, it almost sounds like I know what i'm doingbiggrin) to dial it in perfectly but that long sled turns pretty darn good right now.  It feels a little tippy compared to my other sleds but I think that's because I'm sitting so much higher up in the rider forward set-up.  I'll never go back to 2 stroke.
ps  I have 23 cubic feet of cargo space I'm willing to rent for the trip northwink

With all my talk about going to a new sled this year, last night I pulled out my manfacturer's promotional DVD's.  I must admit, I am really, really attracted to those Yamaha 4-strokes.  I watched the '06 models and the '08 models and the RTX Series (rough trail sleds) seem to be what spoke to me the loudest.  My eyes really lit up when they reviewed that FX Nitro RTX - I just love that front end (nose and new front arms) and the easy stand up nature of that chassis.  But maybe I'm influenced because they got Doug Henry to "act out" the review of that machine.  I think it's telling that they went to the dual parallel rear shocks from the monoshock on all the rough trail sleds in '08.

In any event - I found an Extreme Velocity DVD that I'm sure someone lent me.  I'm sorry I never returned it to you - let me know who's this is so I can return it to you.

Part 3 of Johnny Skeptical, where Johnny's cousin meets Bunny's sister is pretty entertaining.  Maybe I need to "upgrade" so I can meet a girl like that!!
