# 4 always a great host, beer, food and friends. I love the new digs and can't wait to be invited back.

# 3 was quoted "we can do it in 13 hrs" and i believe him

# 5 just to clarify the trip proposal includes an extra day so there is still 4 days schedule for riding. (same length of time away as last year)

Trips of a life time guy's

There needs to be 2 acknowledgements for last night's meeting:

The first, of course, goes to #4 for continuing to host the best meetings in the club bar none.  He sheltered us, nourished us, gave us a tour (I've never been under a barn before), and we even got to work on his equipment.  He knows how to make the right deal, first you feed a guy, then he is willing to go to out of his way to lend a hand.  well done #4.  you haven't lost a step.  by the way, you're new place is beautiful and extensive.  best of luck in your new home.

The second, of course, goes to #2 for a well researched and thought out trip for 2009.  The bound color presentation was nothing short of excellent.  I've submitted projects at work to my superiors that were much less impressive.

That being said, and I'll still like a little more time to toss this around in my noggin, my initial reaction is in line with #7 only in that this is a very long drive.  It doesn't really cost us any additional time in that there are still two days dedicated only to driving.  It is an additional 5.5 hours each way according to my math.

Riding the train will be a nice novelty, and from what I read, it is one day on the train which would displace a day of snowmobiling.  Not crazy about that idea.  I would rather ride every day.  And then there is no need to drive to Michigan to do that.  So that's my thinking right now.  More to come.

Sorry for the no show but I'm still oozing 4" snots form my sinus surgery...something that might have put a damper on the Yees village feast. Did anyone mention New Brunswick this year?

The first meeting of the year was a success. #10 and #388 were missed, but the majority attended and filled up on Yee's.

#4 was an outstanding host and his new place is both impressive and unique. It will be a great place to raise the kids.

#2 made a strong presentation for a trip to Saulte Ste. Marie, Ontario. I have since google searched the Snow Train and came to this conclusion:

It's my opinion that it's an extremely long way to drive. The travel time necessary would consume a disproportionate amount of time away from our families and not on snowmobiles.

Gaspe' and 12 hours is probably as far as I can handle. I'm not so high on that either.

I'd prefer 7-8 hour drive to St Anne De Beaupre, Jonquiere, Alma, Roberval, La Tuque and Monts Valins Ouest. It may seem like a tired old ride to all of you, but it would require less planning, more riding, more available services and nice places to stay.

Just my thoughts about a 2009 trip.

Go ahead rip...away!

#5,

You would not feel out of place in your bearskin cap. Where is #99 and can I afford to feed #388?

Great directions #4, unlike #2, I love the use of landmarks.  the only thing that is missing that drives him crazy is the "you've gone too far if...."

I'll be there promptly at 8pm because I will be limited to one hour of attendance.  I would ask only that we reserve at least 10 minutes at some point to talk about the trip if possible.

I can't wait to be baptized in Yee's Village.  Do I need to bring my bearskin cap?  #4 starts the 2008-2009 season strong.

Directions to my place: 119 west to Ashby center take left at Ashby Market which is South road follow for 300 yards my house is on the left #80. Do not go in first driveway take the second driveway after tall hedges there is a sign that says "Private drive" take that and follow until the driveway turns hard to the left and park in the grass off the hard left. The meeting is in the first lower barn that you see near the big wood pile.

#5,

Yee's Village is the famous chinese food down the street. Meeting starts at 8:00pm. If anyone wants to start earlier let me know. Bring your tools; we need to show the group how to loosen and retighten a track that has slipped a bit to the right on a Polaris 120. I'm glad you have decided to make it. More information will be coming early next week.

I don't know what Yee's Village is but I put the date in my book.  Unless my kid-watchers are busy that night, I'll be there for at least the beginning of the evening.

what time will the meeting begin and what can I bring?  #4 shows us his leadership once again.

#4, you can borrow the 4-place anytime you and 3 of your riding friends need it!

Dear WPR Members,

As everyone knows the first meeting is the best meeting and I would like to host the first Meeting of the year at my new residence at Ashby , MA. on 9/25. This location is 3.5 miles west from my old place. I'm currently painting and hanging mounts on a nightly basis to prepare the new WPR Headquarters for this major event in hopes that my proposal gets excepted. Specific details will follow if this sounds like a plan to the group.

I very much prefer Thursdays for meetings.

I would like to see a return of two original members to this proposed meeting. If for no other reason, but to have a beer with some old friends.

Ontario seems far, but also an innovative suggestion.

Gaspe miles seemed so easy last year. The views were unbeatable, but the riding was less challenging than in years past.

Where is the new Sky Cycle? I am a resident of a foreign land. I need the name of the place and an address.

I already have the itch to plan another trip and look forward to another great season.

ATTENTION MEMBERS:

It is all about communication and preparedness.  Every year we try to match the previous year, and it seems every year we just top it.  For those of us that attended last year's trip - this will be very hard to do.

I have heard everything from Ontario to the same trip backwards less the overnight in Chandler (at least at Hotel Exploreur).  It is necessary to begin the season of meetings.  Why?

- Who will say they are coming, come to every meeting, pitch in on a 4-place trailer, offer to tow and then not actually make the trip??
- Who will make the best presentation and win the destination of their choice?
- Who will talk again about a new machine but then put in 1,000 man-hours of maintenance to get his jalopy ready?
- Who will bring the best chachkis to the meetings?
- Who will propose a place that actually costs 10 times what the member said it would cost?
- Who will suggest/offer the best meeting location?
- Who will play in a band during a meeting?
- Who will drive less than 500 yards to attend all meetings combined?
- Who will suggest a meeting date and place and then be in Pensicola, Fla on the night of the meeting?
- What new member(s) will make the trip this year?
- Will it be 3 misses in a row for any member?
- Will it be 2 in a row for another?
- Will Chicken Dougaki be served at any of the meetings?
- Will the reigning internet only member make a meeting this year?
- Will the reigning WPROTY make the meetings this year?  Oh, that's right, we won't know if they will or won't since that is a defunct title in this club.  lame.
- Will we go in March again?
- How many miles/hourse will we agree to drive to the drop point this trip?
- Will we stay in North America or is it off to Scandinavia this year?
- Will we honor the Republican Vice-Presidential nominee's husband by riding Alaska this year?

How can you ask why we need to schedule our meetings??  It is September and we need a date and a place.

I suggest Wednesday, 9/24.  And let's say that Irish bar on 13 that is across from the new SKY cycle location.  Do I have a second?
