This looks like my worst year yet as far as snowmobiling. i won't make the meeting and unless it's a 3 day trip up in NH, I won't be able to attend the trip. This year is booked solid for me.
I suggest having #388 pat down the members before they enter your house tonight ( #13 will come just for this) because I can smell trouble from here. Are you sure you're ready for the bloodbath that's about to take place at your house? #7 is very capable of bringing the foreign object into the ring tonight and using it. You are messing with his Disney World. Look out!
#13, thanks for your input, if you're not going, stay out of it. <smiley face here>
#4, as director of security, please keep #13 away from this post.
#3, actually you miss a lot when you do not go on the annual trip. For example, you miss snowmobiling the Gaspe Penninsula.
#7, I am having trouble getting excited for the same trip we've already done. We did this two years ago (Monts Valin/Riviere Seguenay loop in reverse) and what I remember is that we somewhat regretted choosing the same destination twice.
It is clear to me that this trip lacks appeal as fully half of those that went last year have decided to skip it, and 2 of the remaining 4 are less than enthused about it. You have to ask yourself why don't you?
Please just come to the meeting with an open mind. There haven't been any plans made that couldn't be changed with two simple phone calls.
Regarding #5's proposal, keep in mind he hasn't made many meetings this year. He is obviously out of touch. It just goes to show that what happens at the meetings does not always translate well onto the web site. Let's face it, the internet only members miss a lot.
I did. He's by far the best player in the league. There is no one even close.
In response to this new proposal, I would vote against it. Thedford Mines does not excite me in the least.
Did anyone indicate that they would suddenly come if the trip was shortened and moved to this area? I haven't heard anything.
I would like to go to Gaspe once again. I think it is big enough that we could see all sorts of new things and also things that we may have missed.
Whose to say that a new trip would add riders? It might just do the opposite.
I am going north no matter what. I have already changed the Hotel Rimouski reservations from 3 rooms to 2 rooms. If there is not going to be a trip there, I need to cancel.
I just got my new truck and my trail pass in the same day. I should be excited, but I'm not. I'm a little disappointed.
I thought we voted on something and agreed on something.
There have been several members (i.e. #10, #13, #99, #388) that have pulled out of the trip this year for various reasons but all seem to stem from one of the following catagories: - too many days off from work - too much $$ In the spirit of full disclosure, less days off from work would also help me now as I have just recently been given deadlines to a new project that I have just been assigned to making a full week off in March really challenging.
So in an effort to incent members back in I will propose an alternative trip at Thursay's meeting. I am working on the details but the general idea is this. Day 1: Drive to northern NH and unload. Cross boarder by sled and ride to Thetford Mines area. Day 2: Ride loop Day 3: Ride loop Day 4: Ride back to trucks, drive home. This would be Wednesday. Unless we can leave on Saturday instead of Sunday then this could be Tuesday. Not sure if those that already ordered regs could get them moved up one day.
Any members that think this new, shorter, closer trip would allow them to recommit to the trip, please attend. Meeting starts at 8:30pm at my house.
I won't take much time to pitch and hog the meeting, I am only throwing it out there if it would be better for several members this year.
3 of the 4 members confirmed for this year's trip have already done this trip last year. And we have never ridden the Thetford Mines area even though we have been told this is a good solid riding area.
Finally, a 4.5 hour drive versus a 10.5 hour drive.
