Would you be surprised if I told you that we were awoken out of bed by the sweet smell of pancakes and sausages? The pes was up early and a full plate of flapjacks was set on the table. Complete with maple syrup, oj and a neatly stacked cord of links. What a presentation!
Soon we suited up and decided to head southeast to Erroll. The trails were are in excellent shape and recently groomed. So much so that we had time to explore and alternate route or two. We had a nice tour of the outskirts of town. ACross a good size pond / lake and up to the groomers den... Off to the center of town where we settled in for Lunch which wasn't great. The usual fair. Soup, meat and fries. Please do not forget the bacon. We filled up across the street and took a quick tour of the sporting good store. What a shop. They had a very good selection of hunting and fishing goods and apparel. They even had 2 fifty count boxes of of 22 cal. Did I mention the selection was excellent. You can't find 22's anywhere.
Back on the trail. We decided to investigate the bowl at Mt. Mugallaway on our way home. I think I have been here before? It was a bit of a challenge getting to the access. A couple of sleds stuck deep in the snow is a sure way to warm up. Have a look at the videos posted on you tube. Very impressive. Two of us climbed to the top on foot. It can be a good work out. The slide down is well worth it.
Back on the trail and to the lodge just before dark. Buc's Tavern for dinner and free wi fi.
Approximately 110 miles.
Day three to come.
