I'd like to start to understand how we will trailer up for the trip. I am more than happy to and plan to be ready to tow with my truck and 2-place trailer, but I think we should start to get some logistics nailed down to be sure there are no surprises. I still need to do a thorough inspection to confirm if I need to replace the axle or just tires for this season. I will get on that asap.
Do we plan to book at certain hotel rooms ahead of time? Do you want me to contact the Casino and confirm how/where we can leave covered trailers? If so, how many will we have? Are all riders confirmed at this point? Rental riders will not need trailer space I'm sure. Should we plan to arrive and pickup rental sleds on the arrival day, or does that add a rental day?
I believe registration links were already sent out to the group, so are we all getting those on our own? Arriving in the mail before the trip, so no stops to register?
Here, here! A terrific meeting hosted by #10. Love adding another location to this clubs history. It will certainly not be the last I'm sure.
Also true was that the focus was on point. Conversation remained on the trip only diverting to discuss the merits of various snowmobile models, that is totally acceptable and encouraged in fact.
We, or rather, I met new potential riding friends who may even join the Canada Trip, we'll see.
The food was terrific, beer excellent, and once again I should get credit for 1101 attendance, and will get strong wproty credits if he joins the trip. Love riding with 1101 so hope I can do it on the snow as well as in the dirt and on the water.
#7 has dutifully given us good research to do. Consider the ball rolling.
I'm pleased that we had that meeting and hammered out the dates of a Quebec trip. #10 was an outstanding host. The crew kept the discussion on topic long enough to call this a productive meeting. BTW, that weekend is coincidentally the off week between the AFC Championship and the Superbowl in case the Pats make it.
I'm willing to drive out for another meeting as we get closer to the date. Also, we should plan on a day trip or a weekend trip prior to heading to the 'great white north".
Great 1st meeting of the year...the Thia food was outstanding..thanks Siri and #10 was a great host as well
Attending Members, 10, 7, 5, 1101, 2, Siri, Scott and Jim.....missing was # 3.....rumors are he is living off grid these days and only has pay phone access
Sounds Like CoteNord (north Side) will be the destination conditions permitting
Starting point sound like either the Casino or Fort Kent, both have pro's and cons that will be discussed at length i am sure
Trip date was decided, we will be leaving 1/25/2018 and returning 1/30/2018 (or 1/31)
This will be the 20 year of the Trip

Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday all work for me this week. Dinner sounds good but on Thursday I will not be able to make it until 8pm depending on where.
I can do any night except Wednesday next week too. Thought I saw that Ralph's Diner has Heavy Metal night on Thursday. The Bull Run has a sold out Marshall Tucker Band that night.
I'm ready for a meeting and I can drive out to north central Mass any night for a night of snowmobile talk.
Any night next week except Friday is good for me. This is no longer a question about taking a Canada trip - this is now just a question of where and when and how many days of riding. Bring your maps and old notes from bygone trips, we'll need that info again to plan the trek.
Beer goes down smoother when drank wearing googles.
Since #10 is no longer in the outer rim, we can choose a location outside the beltway, sorry #7, but I think the Big Woo (aka Wormtown) might be a good spot to keep your drive to a minimum - we are way beyond dock pulling season. I'd like to pick a place that is NOT en vogue, chic, or otherwise the "in" place. How about Ralph's? Maybe there will be live music if we pick the right night, like a Thursday.

ps> how many picked up on the Star Wars reference in there? Episode 8 is only 3 weeks away! I want the Pres to make an iMovie with a John Williams theme. Bonus question: is a parsec a measure of distance or time? As in: "The Millennium Falcon made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs." - Han Solo
Get one of those Polaris Swithchbacks. Great deals all over the place. Who deserves it more than you? Your last Polaris lasted 15 years. No issues. Any regrets?
Do the math $5000 / 15 years is $333 per year. You spent more on gas.
Fast forward to 2017-18 $10K for 10 years of an awesome sled = 12,000 miles of fun.
I finally was able to free myself from being trapped under that big rock so I can post again! Even though not on the forum, I had actually put out a message to the Pres about having a wpr meeting. but of course it should be done here. I am absolutely up for a meeting and a real one to get some dates on the calendar. I have my annual work national sales meeting dates now, it is the week of MLK Jr. Day so that week is out for me unless something changes.
The big news is this winter I am NOT doing the Ranger thing up at Wa-Wa so you can just COUNT ME IN when it comes to weekend overnight trips up north.
The NOT big news is I did not buy a new machine, so I am still a variable when it comes to reliability. I may still pull the trigger, there are options out there, but I am wicked torn. See other post. I did make two significant changes to the Yamadoodle that might help it stay cool. I have one more mod that I am still noodling on.
In my opinion I think one of our best trips north was the loop when we crossed the Seguanay on the ferry and then rode north west following the river back up towards Lac St. Jean into the Valin Mtns. That little town that had the Passion could use more exploring. I love the idea of riding the other direction also, north east along the St. Lawrence as far north as possible then turning around, but I remember we mulled for a long time over what each day looked like and how far we could actually get in 4 days of riding. Up and back trip, lots of risk.
Let's toss dates out, I play tennis on Friday nights now so maybe we pick a different week night or weekend night. #43 was supposed to get his license this Saturday but the Registry cancelled his test, I was really counting on this date because now I have to drive him to work 3x per week. Anyway, I'll make arrangements to do any night!
Who is ready for a WPR meeting? I'm thinking this is going to be a year with several day rides, weekend trips and even a revival of a Quebec trip. Yep I said it. Am I biting off more than I can chew? Perhaps. The only thing that can stop me is lack of snow.
#2 and I want to get cousin Dave out for a ride, this would be a good ride for anyone to bring along novices
Quebec Trip: It's happening. I **** you not. #2 has already purchased a coke can sized CPAP for travel.
I'm checking out Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, I've requested a quote for insurance. Reciprocal weekend perhaps?
So much to discuss, let's get a date for a meeting and a place to meet.
